Sorry about the bland intro. Basically lightly tape a 1.5" dowel to the end of the bushing and hammer in until you have no more progress being made. It takes quite a bit of force per blow once it's in there.

also a good idea to let sit in the freezer overnight, and coat the bushing with oil.. it will tap in really easy.. i have the soild bushings on my ecotec that i imstalled in my 1984 alfa romeo spider.. freezing them worked great

I did stick them in the freezer for like a half hour but it didn't help. Maybe that wasn't long enough.

Hi! I have in my workshop a chevrolet orlando 2.4 ecotec, the fault it presents is that a balance shaft is jammed. Would this method apply in my case?
@TheCarpenterUnion3 жыл бұрын
Jammed how? You would need to remove the old ones before applying the delete bushings

How did you get the bushing out?

I’m thinking about doing this to my car but am worried about how much the engine will vibrate without the balance shafts is the difference noticeable ?
@TheCarpenterUnion Жыл бұрын
Surprisingly was not when I started it and idled. Just been sitting in the garage since, unfortunately. Might feel it a bit in the steering wheel at red lights but many engines don't have balance shafts.

Hey man what's up! Did you feel any difference with the balance shaft delete? Worth it?
@TheCarpenterUnion3 жыл бұрын
Still working on the car lol, but I don't feel any roughness at idle, surprisingly.

@@TheCarpenterUnion yeah so i have heard! That's awesome though! Do you feel any real benefit??
@TheCarpenterUnion3 жыл бұрын
@@jonathansss14 from what I've heard you need to do it if you're raising redline significantly, in addition to much stiffer valve springs which I also did. In my case from 6200 to 8200k. I'd do it if you were doing any kind of rebuild and were thinking about raising redline by any amount

How did you get the bearing out

What bearing?

Where did you get your bushings from

This style isn't the best way...OTTP (Over The Top Performance) has sets that install with a bearing driver tool.. simply screw the bushing on...tap to install, and un-thread the bushing from the tool in place...no tape , no leaving anything in your block...
