This video was just so much more fuckin raw than anything else out by this time. Onyx was just a bunch of guys jumping around singing and Das Efx stood around in the sewer holding baseball bats. Method Man looked like the grim fucking reaper on a greyhound with an entire clan of equally grimy henchmen. And the words were just so crafty and raw. There will never be another 1994.

Don't be dissing Onyx, who else brought that energy!
@tonystarks61139 жыл бұрын
No diss, I'm actually a fan of Onyx. Their 2nd album is one of the best LPs to come out of the golden era. Sticky has always been a dope lyricist, one of NYs finest. But at the time that Tical dropped, Bacdafucup was Onyx only tape and I wasn't a big fan of it at all. Ironically, most people think it's their best album but I thought Slam was annoying and all the beats on the album were boring as fuck. Bitchazzniggaz was my shit tho. And Throw Your Gunz. But the rest of the tape was boring to me.

The whole sound of 36 chambers is epic... from the weed smoking shit talking interludes between each song to the ninja samples that album is one of my fav hip hop albums of all time. RZA/Wu's sound is their own.

@dedskin17 жыл бұрын
Sansdeity420x i done quite understand : pick back beats " ,yeah beat selection is a skill, but to show that skill you need beats and when you make million dollar album you have a crew , mixer , audio engenier , beat maker etc
@dedskin17 жыл бұрын
Rusty Shackleford you are very romantic but it makes no difference , it is how i say it is , its not a one man job , its not hey lets make a song for international market . you can make a song for your Hood , when it comes to business , its time to hire professionals , not rely on your , most times wasted crew . that is not how you do the job. I dont know maybe Dre or Rza , Erd or Azr do them things alone , but that is still not how you do it
@dedskin17 жыл бұрын
Rusty Shackleford man you cant point your finger in the studio at something without me being able not just to explain its purpose , or use it , i can even fix it . So dont be blabing about but pay respect you might learn something useful when you turn on SMPS on your D class Amped Linkwitz-Riley filters of your reference monitors next time, if you have any that is . J Cole is dope, no lie. But not too many artists these days coming with the unique, authentic, original STYLE that the Wu and several other folks during the 90s were doing. There’s (surprisingly) still a shitload of dope lyricists out there today, but almost nobody is flaunting any kind of unique swag to the game. You can always correlate a rapper’s influence to someone from the past. Can’t really say that about the Wu.
