Not true. It all depends on the variety, soil composition, how you fertilize it, sun exposure and proper watering. Here on the tropics some of these varieties can give fruit in a few months.

For me the right to be used are those healthy, and matured cuttings at least 2years.Matured cuttings may bear fruits in just 6 - 8 months unlike young cuttings.
