I don’t know exactly how i feel about closure i keep listening to it and idk if it’s bad or good really ima give it a few more listens 😂. i saved a lot of songs but the ones that really peaked my interest more then the others after a second listen was champagne problems, evermore ft bon iver, right where you left me, it’s time to go, tolerate it,happiness & coney island ft the nationals but this was definitely a fire album 😂. next album ill try to talk about what i think about the lyrics i just really enjoyed listening 😂. and for the new folks ion know nothing about taylor swift so i can’t go in depth into songs 😂 i just want good music for my playlist gang

I appreciate your candidness - it's ok to not like a song; sometimes you just don't vibe. Your favorites list is very similar to mine. Also, you don't have to go into depth interpreting the lyrics -- you spend time appreciating the "bars" and the melodies/harmonies/production, and that's way more than a lot of people. For me, Closure evokes the jarring feeling of someone that did you wrong reaching out for “closure” but you didn’t ask for or need that. She’s basically telling them to fck right off 😂

Yes, like I’m a huge Swiftie and have been since the beginning but I don’t really read into theories as much. I heavily enjoy the music, lyricism, and production of her music. I love every album. I’m going to The Eras Tour in Miami in October and I’m siked.

Know what's funny Metri? You have a very distinct producer preference and you don't even know it -- 80% of your favorite songs on Evermore AND Folklore are done by Aaron Dessner, 80% of your hated songs are produced by Jack Antonoff, who also did a ton of her other albums including a bunch on Reputation. Buut he also did your fav Mirrorball, so we'll see moving forward if you grow to like him or not 😂😘

Marjorie is about her grandma that died when she was younger. Marjorie was an Opera singer (you can actually hear her voice in the song) and she is part of what inspired Taylor to become a singer

Btw if you listen to Tis the damned season then Dorothea it is both persons POV! It’s a story. The woman She went to be an actress in LA and the man stayed in their hometown. Woman is singing Tis the damned Season and the man is singing Dorothea. Gives context and shows how amazing TS writing is.

I have been waiting for the evermore reaction! And I thought I could share some information for you from a big swiftie: Folklore and Evermore are both fictional albums, so like Taylor never declined a proposal or so. She wrote those two albums while the pandemic happened. Also based on your folklore reaction I think you would really like her album Red (Taylor’s Version of course). That album is filled with a lot of heartbreaking and fun lyrics. It would be really cool if you would check that album out;)

I agree for the most part, but both those albums weren’t fictional in their entities. My Tears Ricochet, Great American Dynasty, Mirrorball &, Marjorie to name a few. All taken from real life

the reason you cant vibe with closure is because its in a 5/4 time signature. Its supposed to feel like shes catching up to the beat because most sings are in a 3/4 or a 4/4 time signature. its an incredibly complicated song.

The beat/production of closure is meant to be chaotic because it’s supposed to represent frustration, anger, and resentment in an awful situation, and then when it mellows out in the chorus it’s representing having peace by not wanting closure despite all the unresolved feelings. I hope that makes sense!

the reason why closure sounds "off" for some people is because it's timed differently than your regular song on a radio or an album. It's counted in an "irregular way". Typically people stick to 4/4 time and closure is 5/4. People either love or hate the song for this reason but personally, being trained for almost 9 years in a music school makes me very intrigued and captivated by the production of it. When you pair the time and lyrics it makes sooooooo much sense because clearly, the narrator is not over the situation and the "closure" has not arrived yet so it's still all kinda messy and hurtful

Evermore is an album you have to listen to more than once and sit with. A whole year passed before i really gave it a chance, but once i did, it’s the only album i play the whole way through DAILY. It’s music that’s very contemplative and diction heavy, the songs messages don’t always make sense at first but the poetry alone makes this my fav album🤎

I love that you were honest and authentic about gold rush because it lends credibility to your entire reaction. There's a huge influx of people reacting to Taylor Swift because they know it'll get them views/subscribers and it's probably very easy to be dishonest so that Swifties will like you. I actually don't love gold rush (I don't hate it either) even though it's a fan favorite. With that said, I really enjoy your reactions, so I hope you keep making them!

this is exactly how it started for me too! it was just one song where i was like wow okay this is good and then u just keep discovering and discovering and then u learn abt the stories behind the song or how some of her songs connect or you really sit there and listen to that ONE lyric u didn't pay much attention to and you're just like shit, and it's just this consistent newfound respect for her. she truly knows how to put universal experiences and feelings into words that u never thought someone could explain. finally am admitting I'M A SWIFTIE

You love vocals so if want raw vocals Pls Listen to (Folklore:Long pond studio sessions) She basically explains all the songs in Folklore and she performs it live and man it's an even better experience than the album in my opinion it's so FUCKING GOOD If you need something new you can check out her short film (All too well) There is a short film you have to watch She Directed it as well and won a Grammy
