Gunpla and Lego building is so relaxing especially when you have some good music playing and snacks nearby. I have a backlog of Gunpla and Lego sets to build

The Gundam hobby is crazy because even the tutorials on how to start feel relaxing, just bought my first Gundam and I'm looking forward to building it!

This is the best video I've come across for tools with getting into Gunpla! I love how the video was structured and showed how they're used. Versus others just saying to get this or that. Thank you so much!!

I noticed that you started over with a fresh nub when you introduced a new tool. I always thought you were supposed to cut with the side cutters and get as close as possible then shave off a little with the hobby knife then finish with some light sanding? Am I doing it wrong? Should I be just picking one of those tools for nub removal?

There's really no one way to do it, just find what works for you! For this video we were trying to highlight to tools use, our Gundam Expert's favourite method is to cut the nub as close as you can with nippers (nothing better than GodHand 🙏) then to sand it down - this video was filmed a while ago, so we'll get an updated version up as soon as we can!

Is the files really necessary? won't sandpaper reduce the stress mark?

Either will work, though bad cutting can lead to *deeper* stress marks that either wont come out, or require sanding beyond and building back up with spare plastic. BUT, if you're cutting properly, you should have no stress marks at all. So filing/sanding is just to remove the nub of the gate sticking off edges for a nice smooth finish. (they can also get in the way of parts snapping together all the way sometimes)

you can actually get em pretty cheap, most expensive gunpla are usually in perfect grade quality, id recommended high grade to start as you can find kits of those for less than 10 dollars, a perfect starter set would be the rx-78-2 high grade

I couldn't help but laugh at this guys stupid choice of tools after the blade. A BIG ASS FILE?! HELL NO! Use a sanding stick it gets the job done better and safer for the part. Use 100 or 400 grit for the final touch after the craft blade. After that go to 800 grit, 2000, 3000, then buffer sticks to give a shiny finish. NEVER USE A FILE
