Metroid Prime 4: Trailer Sound Redesign (Short)

NOTE: This was made only for study and practice. The original footage belongs to Nintendo.
This video is a short sound redesign of the first scene from the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond gameplay trailer. I coudn't resist to make one since the reveal trailer looks really cool. What do you think of the result? Let me know in the comments :D

En: I wanted to redesign the sound of the entire trailer, but i woudn't be able to finish it to upload this week (this scene alone already took 12 hours to be done o.0). I will try to make the rest later if possible. Feel free to tell me what do you think of this :D Pt: Eu queria refazer o som do trailer inteiro, mas não conseguiria terminar a tempo para postar essa semana (só essa cena já levou 12 horas para ficar pronta o.0). Vou tentar finalizar o resto mais tarde, se possível. Sinta-se à vontade para me contar o que achou disso :D

It hard to pick which one is better. (sorry my best headphones no longer works as they use to and I am only using speakers) I like both, the original has a Thunder-Sounding-Mega-Beam 0:21 caught me off guard the first time seeing it since the sound came as soon as the Beam showed up. I think they did pick a thunder-ish sound since It might have been a Giant Wave Beam. Your is also a good pick, thought it has a missile sound quality to it, but what I really like is that the sound comes in before the Beam shows up which losses that surprise factor but gives it a whole lot of power, plus the rumble after the impact makes it feel like it did shook the landscape. Both seem to have echos but yours had more, which is great seeing that it's like a canyon area. - - - - - - The Green Lazers from the turrents don't seem to have sound. Great job in adding foot-steps as well as fire sounds.

Thanks for your feedback. The original audio is great, I like it too. Yeah, the turrets don't have sound in the trailer, I decided to add it to see how well they would fit. I added the short antecipation before the beam appearing to make it feel more powerful indeed, along with the rumble xD

@@levivbaudio Sorry but I meant in your video the green lazers from the turrents dosen't seem to have sound. The original does. It has a super faint - reverse whistle or a distorted chirp sound to it. You can hear it 4 times when the camera goes around Samus and into the Visor. After that it is no longer played even when Turrets from far beyond still fire. Intead a sound that is similar to a passing ship is heared then fades out and the the beam strikes with that busting lightning sound. Still it would be nice to add some more sound to those big guns.

Oh, sorry for misunderstanding your comment. I really forgot to add sound to them indeed, I will fix this later on.

Thats pretty good, do you think you can have a go at reworking Samus' theme when she leaves her ship?

Thanks. I'm not sure if I would rework the theme since this is more focused on the sounds, but I will think about it.

I for sure felt like the intro from the direct was too quiet for too long. Not sure why it's like that, so I'm glad you made this. For the full thing, maybe add the jingle?

Yes, it feels more quiet without music in the intro. I'm not sure if i would add the jingle since this is focused on the sounds, but i will think about it. Thanks for the suggestion.
