I love the icy sound of Phendrana Drifts, it's my go-to example of winter music that doesn't necessarily evoke Christmas, but more January and February. Even the sleigh bells make me think more of a dogsled trekking through the frozen tundra than Santa's sleigh. I think there's four kinds of winter music, there's the festive and jolly music we associate with Christmas and December, I call it Christmas music or early winter music, the icy winter music that we associate with January and February (or a frozen mountaintop), I call it mid-winter music, more upbeat winter music that still sounds cold but has a little bit of optimism to it, sounding like March, I call that late-winter music, and there's a fourth type, that has a cozy "warm indoors while it's cold outside" type.

I am currently sitting in the game-room of my old house, probably somewhere close to summer, 17 or 18 years ago when we finally got a GameCube, I think. Oh how this piece never ages a day, no matter what style cover, whether it be orchestral, Metroid Metal, you name it.
