A little context…the Canadian Pacific Railway was built from 1881 to 1886 the line ran from Montreal to Port Moody British Columbia. Through the Rocky Mountains etc, etc.!! First passenger train left Montreal on June 28th 1886 arriving in Port Moody, British Columbia on July 4th…. The Eglinton cross town line is EPIC INCOMPETENCE at ALL LEVELS. How do these people still have jobs?

I remember not so long ago many people were making fun of the Chinese and how their workmanship and build quality was poor and that they couldn't be trusted with constructing major projects. Fast forward to present day and they're among the leaders in the world in taking on major construction projects while in countries like Canada we can't even build a relatively easy LRT line without going massively over budget and way over the projected finish date.

Provide the complex timelines of your "estimated opening dates" contingent on all known problems and potential issues. We are fully capable of understanding a time series detailing the problems and the time required to address them, along with any additional issues this team can dream up. An evasive press conference does not instill confidence. We're not interested in the past delays nor your offer of "continual updates" that will most likely morph into more and more delays. We'd like to know what we're looking at going forward from this moment in time. You know, checks and balances.

It took 6 years to build the epic trans-Canada railway over a hundred years ago. Efficiency and engineering competence have now become ancient lost technology in this country. And this is just the Eglinton line, one straight line through the suburbs. Imagine how long the Ontario line is going to take with all its twists and turns through downtown and bridges across valleys and ravines. We'll be living on the moon long before transit in this city gets built. Canada is rapidly turning into a failed state.

You know, This presentation appears to assume that the TTC has no experience whatsoever with heating, audio, air flow and signaling issues. The TTC have had subway stations and subway lines for decades. The Ellington line is not the TTC's first "walk in the park" concerning heating, audio, air flow and signaling issues. However, it certainly looks like it is this construction team's "first walk in the park". How did that happen?

A subway would have taken much less time at this point. In future, skip the 7 year debate as to which would be built faster , and the complexity of. That debate has now been settled. Lite rapid transit has lost, next time listen to the voters, not city council. 0_o

How complicated is it to build a light rail line? Montreal has its one up and running between Central Station and the South Shore right now. The TTC has built it's lines but the Conservative government and this overbudget line is giving excuses instead of answers!

Jan 1, 2100 completion might be possible ... perhaps not probable. Reserving 1 lane and providing frequent hybrid/electric buses in that lane during and in the direction of rush hour would have done the trick. Wonder how much that would have cost? Btw Same for St. Clair, instead of eating up two streetcar lanes in the middle. 🥶
