Works ok on light powder snow. They have the 90 thousands tractor with the two stage for the wet heavy snow.

That’s a nice snowblower. I use our Polaris Ranger a lot for plowing. It has an enclosed cab. I added a Inferno heater to it, mainly to keep the windows from fogging up. We get a lot of 1-2 inch nuisance snow, so the blade plow makes quick work of it. On the Bobcat Tractor, we have an 8 foot loader mount snow plow and a 3 point snowblower. I gave to admit, it’s a pain in the neck literally, blowing snow in reverse.

Thanks Rich! I was actually thinking it would be nice to get the cab for the Atlas at some point. How well does the Inferno work?
@richardbrowne1679
@richardbrowne1679 Жыл бұрын
@@MetsaMachines The Inferno works well when the coolant gets warm, it just takes a long time for the UTV coolant to warm up. I’m considering an in-line heater to warm the coolant before plowing on really cold days. I would plug it in about 2 hours before using it.

I would prefer the Bercomac snowblower, it has electric start as well as an electric clutch for the blower so you can run the engine without the blower spinning, a nice safety option! And it is built in Canada so ya, nice to buy from North America too!

You could get a set of tire chains for the UTV. That would solve your traction issues without the extra expense of getting another set of tires and wheels. The tractor snowblower setup does a great job as well. There are also cheaper snowblower options for a tractor 3pt hitch. As you pointed out, either option does the job and just depends on what vehicle you already have to maintain your property.
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines Жыл бұрын
We thought about getting a 3 point one, you’re right they are cheaper and still work well. But I really didn’t want to have to go backwards everywhere while snowblowing.

@@MetsaMachines They do make front mount rear PTO drive snowblowers. They are a little harder find, but less expensive than the mid PTO powered front mount.
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines Жыл бұрын
@@bwillan That could be nice. No need for the mid PTO then, could work on a wider variety of tractors I imagine.

@@bwillan Over here it's almost the other way around, it might be due to more roads than "lots" to plow? Then buckets and plows/blades so that the snow doesn't end up on the neighbors property or go through any windows 🤭😋...

@@MetsaMachines Three-point "inverted" pull type blowers enable blowing snow while driving forward, so the operator does not experience the "pain in the neck" syndrome. Recently, three point hitch mounted blowers which can blow snow while driving forward and reverse have come on the market. I don't recall the names of the manufacturers, but I believe they are made in Canada.

Since the Rammy is only a single stage snowblower, it will struggle with wet heavy snow. The dual stage is superior in those conditions.

I've seen a few single stage blowers modified to throw snow farther then they were designed for, but that usually meant adding more RPM to that auger. What does this Rammy spin at if I may ask? Also for this application ATV/UTV I'd say you have a winner there. Great video. Cheers from Sask, Canada.

I have a Polaris General and I currently plow with it...I was considering getting a subcompact tractor and PTO snowblower, but now I'm really considering one of these. It looks pretty neat. Do you think this would work better than a hydraulic fisher plow?
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines Жыл бұрын
We really like using a snowblower instead of a plow for a couple of reasons. You don't need to worry about a big pile of snow and ice that you have to work around all winter, and using a plow will typically put a more stress on the machine than a snowblower will.

I going to comment negetively about the Rammy because it bogged down in the heavy compacted stuff. Then the L6060 did also. I would have to say my reservation would be that the Rammy does not have a very high "mouth" for the deeper snow. You would want to keep up with the snow fall in heavy storms. Seems like a good alternative to a tractor for snow removal. How easy is it to switch between blade and snowblower??? I know I didn't pick a front mount SB for my Kubota because I didn't want to switch the K-Mount back and forth to a loader. It is nice being able to push high and snowblow with a rear mount SB. Like everyone says though, pain in the neck.

I've been doing some research into these Rammy's to use with my Yamaha Kodiak atv and it would be extremely easy to swap between your existing blade and this blower. The Rammy's attachment arm is adjustable to work with any brand mount you currently have. So it would be a simple process of pulling your 2 pins and unclipping your winch hook and dropping your blade, and then driving your machine over the blower arm and putting the 2 pins back in and clipping your winch hook on.

How does it do with deeper snow or heavy wet snow? I don't see those wings holding up well with those conditions.
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines Жыл бұрын
The wings hold up to heavy and wet snow very well. We only ever see damage to the wings if they are hitting walls or curbs, which you wouldn't want to drive any snowblower into. The rubber flaps offer a bit of a buffer in those situations, but Hometown Acres also did a video showing the snowblower if you want to see other examples of the wings in use.

I googled it and it says that the gravely atlas is 63 inches wide. isn't the 155 blower about 61 inches wide? Is it a problem that the utv is wider by about an inch on each side?

We haven't had any issues using it with the Gravely (ignoring the fact that we don't have a windshield on it). That being said, we typically recommend going slightly larger than your ATV/UTV if possible.

What if you have a gravel driveway? Where do you take the machine for repairs? Thanks
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines Жыл бұрын
This is actually a gravel driveway. Regarding repairs, you'd reach out to the dealer you purchased it from (or us if you bought it direct) for assistance. Otherwise, you could bring it to a small engine repair shop and we could work with them for any more involved work, but that really hasn't been an issue with the Rammy. It's a matched belt system, and typically those belts would either slide out of place or snap before any major damage occurs. The engine service or warranty work can be done at any certified Briggs & Stratton service center.

So I think the price is perfect for what it is. I think this machine works great and with better traction I am convinced that you could use it in 8 to 10 inches at the max. That is between a walk behind and a Kubota or Bobcat. If people say that it is expensive then they have not been paying attention.
