A couple of things were observed in your video. At 6:40, you complete the example for the safe weighing range. You mention about OIML and HB 44, and place those MPE on your graph first. You then show the green shaded area, which rises outside of the MPE you have described from OIML and HB 44, and specify a customer defined tolerance of 0.5%, which, on a C3 measuring instrument is 15e! That is either making money for the business or throwing the money out the door! If the customer has that margin for error, do they need a trade approved scale??? At 7:50, you make mention of a MPE of 0.3 kg / 3e. Am guessing that an in service MPE is permitted in your jurisdiction. From the saving that you have mentioned, it would pay the owner of the scale to purchase 14 * 20 kg hand weights, plus smaller denominations down to 5 grams, have the masses verified and do their own testing, and get the error down to +/- 0.5e. Do the testing for repeatability, eccentricity and span once a week, document, include as part of their Quality Assurance management, and call you if the scale error exceeds +/- 1.5e. The other matter relates to the testing procedures. Am hearing rumblings that the testing procedure is going to be changed in a large way within the next 18 months due to problems on several continents. Has your organization heard anything about this matter?
