In this video, I play the worst game ever. Paw Patrol: Grand Prix is a terrible racing game, and it's honestly kinda scary. A cursed game, almost. Like a creepypasta where the horror is the terrible controls. Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart Double Dash are much better games, and even have new stuff like the Booster Course Pass and Blue Shell only races! However I hate the stupid Waluigi Wiggler combination. 1/10. Maybe this is secretly Mario Kart 9. MARIO!

Theory: Half the names of the track names were taken from actual Paw Patrol episodes. That's how we got stuff like "No Jungle is too Big"

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Paw Patrol Grand Prix. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Ryders's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Paw Patrol Grand Prix truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Chase's existential catchphrase "Idk," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev 's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Paw Patrol Grand Prix tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

As someone that watched the show while babysitting, I understand the jokes and references but I can totally see why this game is bad design-wise... the gameplay _definitely_ needs improvement though.

The Wii version of MySims Racing from 2009 did boosted starts in a similar way to PAW Patrol: Grand Prix - during the starting countdown, you had to balance the meter within the green zone, and then if it was in the green you would get a speed boost when the race started, only in MySims Racing, this ‘sweet spot’ zone was much narrower than it is in PAW Patrol: Grand Prix.

Cars 2/Disney Infinity had a similar style of starting a race, it’d be where you’d mash the A button to get a speed boost. The boost would give you a window where you didn’t have to hold the gas button for a bit.

What are your thoughts on Cars 3: Driven to Win? I actually kinda like it but the models of the characters DEFINITLY needed more time in the oven, also there is no Luigi (no not that green plumber who made speedrunners happy with his own 2D platformer game.) but you can play as Guido.

As a lifelong Cars gamer, I can say that Driven to Win has flaws. The models and graphics are good, but the voice lines are mostly awful. They didn't try and hire any actors from the films or even good soundalikes, and this still the only piece of Cars media over 16 years where Mater isn't voiced by Larry the Cable Guy. The tracks vary from great to meh and there isn't a battle mode, just this small hubworld. The retro tracks from the Cars 2 game are ok but I feel like they picked the least interesting versions of some locations (exceptions for Italy and the airport track), but neglected to bring back the oil rig. And the character roster is too small. 20 characters, not even half the previous game, with it being padded out by a few alts and so little returning characters. I can firmly say that the Cars 2 videogame is miles better, same can be said about the film too, it's super overhated.

The count down system in this game it's kinda similar in Cars 2 the video game and Cars 3 Drive to Win. You have to tap fast the button but in the Cars games case, the quick you tap the button, the much energy you'll get!

The studio that made this (Outright games) is by far my least favorite studio in gaming. They might not be as bad as EA, but I hate them more. Their games are absolute garbage, and extremely expensive for what they are. They completely rely on their IP to sell, their games are practically copy pasted from each other.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was on the fence to buy this game as my kids love Paw Patrol, even had it in my cart. But as a good parent, I i feel that I shouldn't allow my kids to suffer through such low-quality, low-effort cash-grabs. The only worse feeling than watching a child's excitement get slowly chocked to death by cheap garbage is for the same thing to happen but with expensive garbage. The game is $50 friggin bucks here, i'd feel a little better if it was closer to $15 or even $20, but this is a ripoff.
