@@pinderworld-travelenthusiast If I could easily leave, I would. Here is the bad: Aside from my room, there is no AC here that actually cools. It's sweltering in the **restaurants** and all commons areas (including hallways and lobby, 90+°/There is a colony of ants crawling around my room./Room service NEVER answers the phone. I had to place my order through the TV (fine), but when it was two hours later, I could not speak to anyone/The diamond club "individual check in " seems to mean that ONE "individual" checks in all diamond club customers. That took over an hour in the heat./The "ocean view" is only an ocean view if you lean off the balcony and look right It's actually a view of the pool./ Even the breakfast buffet area is not air conditioned at all.// The good. Getting an expensive room (other than the ants), means having a very large room with an in-room jacuzzi and a second one on the balcony. The shower is large and really nice with multiple shower head options. If you are ok with always being wet from either sweat .

@@kookakooka1947 I find it amazing how two people can have two completely different experiences at the same hotel. We were fortunate not to have what you had especially where the air conditioning was concerned. Our only issue was in our first week having to queue so long to be seated at the restaurants without a reservation. That obviously changed once we were able to have the diamond club service where restaurant reservations were made for us. We were there in October 2022, so maybe that had a bearing on the sweltering conditions and ant colonies, who knows. If we had had your experience, would I be recommending the Royalton? Maybe, maybe not. It’s just one of those unfortunate things with hotels. I stayed in the ultra 5* Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore and had issues with my room ie; blocked toilet and sticking balcony sliding door, something that one wouldn’t expect from a property like that, but unfortunately, it happens and it just happened to be me experiencing that. Hey Ed, thanks for watching, I really appreciate it. We arrived here on Friday October 7th for 14 fabulous nights. I’ve noticed that people have been parking their cars, though most arrivals are with tour operators or private taxis. Think you may need to contact the hotel directly to be completely certain. Not a tourist tax, but you do need to pay environmental tax. Can't really remember the amount per day, but for us (2 people, 11 nights) it amounted to about 35 euro's.

You can film bathrooms. You just can’t film people using the bathroom.

Hey Londan, thanks for watching, I appreciate it. The excursion prices vary from type to length. For example, we booked three excursions on site, one of which was to visit Chichen Itza. They were two packages to choose from. We paid around $300US per couple for the package which included a Cenote visit, lunch and traditional show, plus a visit to a local town. Hope this helps. 👊🏾
