@@laurasalva7256 Well not really, it was more like a new government rule, about transparency to the consumer. Because most packagin lie about calories or what is inside their products. So is more like a protection to the consumer so they really can know how bad or good a product is. Recently i remember a "milk packagin" that got banned because there was no milk in it. So they rebranded their product to sell it again as "there is no milk in this product".

I was in Mexico City until June and Gloria’s are the moser amazing candy I’ve ever had. I simply cannot stop eating them! Gansitos are best when you freeze them first. They’re still soft and chewy but it just all tastes so much better! Also all industrial products are required by the ministry of health to indicate the excessive calories, salt, fat and sweet in the products. I found it goofy because it’s quite obvious! The botanas or snacks that foreigners need to try and WILL like whether visiting Mexico are the following imho: - Chips Jalapeño flavor, - fresh chicharrón and chicharrón preparado (prepared pork rinds) - elote and esquite (white crazy corn) - any homemade agua fresca, - Taro drinks or desserts. There is so much more though so feel free to add!

Just a small FYI, the Excess Seals on the food were implemented so people know a bit more what they are eating, they go in the food that have over a certain amount of Fat, Sodium and so on. And to put in perspective, here in my country we get stuff from Wallmart that comes from the US or Canada and even the stuff labeled as "LIGHT" over there have like 2 times more fat, sodium, sugar or calories than things that have those Seals here. Most of those "LIGHT" things are full of Seals over here, they are not Light at all xDD.

😂😂 having grown up going to Monterrey MX every summer break as a kid I knew he wasn’t gonna like the goat milk candy. I think it tastes great but then again I’ve had it since I was a young kid. Monterrey is known for all types of goat dishes, main one being cabrito. Edit: Pizza is very Mexican btw, tomatoes were introduced to the world by Mexico. No pizza without Mexican tomatoes.

Yeah, it's a rip off. Just like Submarinos are a Twinkies rip off. They were introduced in an era Mexico didn't get as many international brands like post-NAFTA because they had to be produced or be in a joint-venture with a Mexican producer. Nowadays Hostess products are sold in Mexico exclusively by the OXXO chains, but it's not a brand the average Mexican actually recognize.

I grew up eating microwave burritos. Across the street from my Highschool, there was a convenience store. Almost every day I would get a red hot beef burrito. Heating was an art. Not enough cooking and it would be cold in the centre. One second too long and kiss the skin of the roof of your mouth goodbye. They also had Doritos with the bag cut lengthwise then you would pump melted cheese on top of the cheese. That was 7 to 10 pumps of cheese and half a pound of jalapenos. YUM
