I love this. Ironically, I found Mezzoforte while looking for a metal song by the name of Nightfall (Blind Guardian), saw this, thought it was was a cover and was pleasantly surprised. It's great.

'Nightfall' is a masterwork. In this typical WestCost style of music it's the best work ever. I guess Eythur G is the mastermind making those intelligent harmonies, rhythmical patterns and this lovely lead melody and then both the guitarist and himself make solo parts of historical significance. Beyond great!

I understand you think that Eythor Gunnarsson is the composer of this track. But as a matter of fact it was guitar player Fridrik Karlsson who composed this song with Eythor Gunnarsson together. They together composed some of Mezzoforte’s greatest tracks. That doesn’t undermine the fact that the harmony and chord progressions of Eythor Gunnarsson’s solo on the original is truly marvelous and awe inspiring!

@@norwalltino They’ve produced some of the most beautiful jazz fusion tracks in the European music branche. Nordic jazz fusion has been enriched by their musical talents. In the Netherlands they are held in high regard by many musicians, both professional and amateurs, and they keep on inspiring many young Dutch musicians up to this day.

That's Frederik. Lovely guy, lovely player, delighted to meet him at their London gig the other night. All of these guys are highly talented individually and when they play together, magic happens.
