They will always be different. Better is subjective in most cases. Appreciate them both. Rudiments are equally played and played well. Im only gave nccu the nod because their cadences had more versatility.

We love to say the MEAC has the best drum lines, but truthfully it depends on the eye of the beholder and the ear of the listener. Rudiments are rudiments and prairie view is damn good! Again, it’s based on your what you like, but I’m a SC STATE guy, so I feel the MEAC has the best. DOA is small, but they are always technically sound.

Can't say all of that, but I do give DOA their props. Most of y'all MEAC Drumlines look and kinda sound like DCI Drumlines...

In my opinion I feel like the schools in the Carolina and Virginia area have very versatile styles.

@@zaishaw6602 I agree as a whole yes. Individually they look as much alike as Jackson and Alcorn or tnsu and Lane. Suttle differences but to the non percussive eye. No noticeable difference. I think each school can shine don't get me wrong, but some schools don't have enough of a difference to stand out. Here's the test I'd like to see. Put 10 lines in matching uniforms. Let them each play a cadence and then have a group determine which school is which. The uniqueness will stand out for some. For others. Not so much.

Honestly, that's the difference between SWAC bands vs Meac bands/drumlines. I notice everybody in the SWAC kind of follow jsu style of playing. Well they all will see a real percussion section roll thru a city near you, and that's "SUDDEN IMPACT OF BETHUNE COOKMAN UNIVERSITY

Alcorn sounds far beyond high school level. 90% of MEAC bands play at a middle to high school level, no real dynamic, just straight playing. BCU already got spanked by JSU without JSU trying. MEAC is not where its at, which is why FAMU and BCU uprooted to the SWAC.

@@georgedixon8095 never said that they wasn’t good. SWAC and MEAC are two different breeds. I’m sure they’ll hold they own in the SWAC but they are definitely not the best two in the SWAC.

FAMU AND BCC were the Best in the MEAC...and MEAC styles were better louder more professional...as you can tell...FAMU ans BCC will dominate in band and football 🤣🤣😅MEAC is more powerful

@@GVocalz3 i know we did the same thing when i was in Alcorn band . it didnt make sense then and it don't make sense now. Especially when it cost the same amount of money. To bring them to the event as it would to bring the whole drum section. Now the whole got footage of horrible sounding drum section . See The problem is Alcorn got a country ass band director with a Napoleon complex that know what the band job is .. Why would you go all the way to Atl and not play to nothing to raise your team spirit to fight for the victory, dont say . they played cause they didnt. They didnt play defense a tuba solo or a pep song the whole game ... This what happen when you hire the wrong person . the whole band dont get better just one section. The song selection is sad even is they play good and loud they still played the wrong song at they wrong time so no matter who you face you end up with that L. Shame on the band director.

@@marcuswilliams9039 I feel you and I agree with what you’re saying. They’re in the top 3 in the SWAC currently and hopefully he’ll get the picture and do what has to be done because the prospects are paying attention.
