In this video we will be comparing the base variants with manual transmission of both the cars. MG Astor Shine 1.5 MT is priced at Rs. 11.68 Lakh and VW Taigun Comfortline 1.0 MT is priced at Rs. 11.70 Lakh. The prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
This video compares the Cost-Effectiveness and Value of two cars over time. It considers the on-road price, resale value, depreciation cost, size, performance, and unique features.
Astor is available with a 1.5-Litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 110PS of maximum power & 144Nm of peak torque. Taigun’s 1.0-Litre turbo petrol engine makes 115PS of maximum power & 178Nm of peak torque.
The 2024 Astor is 4323mm long, 1809mm wide and 1650mm tall. The Astor has a 2585mm long wheelbase. On the other hand, the 2024 Taigun is 4221mm long, 1760mm wide and 1612mm tall. The Taigun has a 2651mm long wheelbase. Bigger exterior dimensions give a car a stronger road presence. A long wheelbase makes the car more stable at high speeds and gives better legroom in the back seat, while a shorter wheelbase makes the car more agile.

Taigun has issues with AC. Astor has no issues like that. Astor feels much bigger from inside. MG service is far far better. I am surprised with Astor’s mileage numbers. Taigun gives lesser mileage in city. Although, on highway it gives better mileage. I have Astor and my very close college friend has Taigun. No doubt on VW’s performance. But it comes at the cost of mileage, features, space and servicing.

Very objective comparison. Excellent video, as usual. However, the two cars cannot be compared on the drive and roadholding they offer. The Astor comes out slack, dull and offers poor drive quality, while the taigun outshines every other car (not just Astor) on these points.

a little detail missed Jagdev. In the verdict section @6:56 both differences are marked in blue color as opposed to red /blue. Made it a bit confusing. Taigun ka difference red mein hona tha

I have bought Astor Sharp, Trust me a perfect substitute for a Luxury performance oriented car, Like BMW (for those who can not afford) VW gives that lower middle class feel which Maruti used to give, ++ MG Service experience is unmatched. V3cars I Love your Content and commitment. Huge Fan❤

Apart from mileage, its better then any car thats true. It feels premium for sure. But chinese tag is BIGGEST DEAL BREAKER.

But German is way far better than Chinise any day. Astor wins in features where a creta or seltos wins over astor with features. You can add features but not performance😂

@@dsudheer1312I adhere to speedlimits and drive mostly in planes, have couple of times taken the car into hills, It perfectly served the purpose. I am not someone who would run race cars, I think if I wanted performance I would have opted for MG ZS EV. EVs have better torque, better Speed. Better kick and overall better performance than any ICE engine. Hope this somewhat makes sense to you.

Hello Sir, Planning to buy new Suv with budget of Rs 25 lacs +-2 lacs. I have test driven Safari, XUV 700, Scorpio N and I am bit confused between Safari and Scorpio N.(Not considered XUV 700 as it has suspension noise, as complained by existing owners) I know both vehicles are completely different.But I like the road presence of Scorpio N and it's being value for money on the other hand Safari has lot better interiors but bit overpriced. Please suggest which vehicle to go for. It would be a great help.

Hi.. very informative videos. Thanks. I purchased new cars but very confused. My budget maximum on road 1150000/-. Astor sprint variant select ki ya hai. Kai sa rahega. Engine reliable hai. Long time use kar na hai. 10. Years. Monthly running 500. Km. Maintenance cost high to nahi ho gi.? In future suppose. CNG kit Astor sprint variant me fit ho sakti hai. Or CNG Astor me kai si rahegi. Family cars Leni hai. Engine performance kai sa rahega. CNG in future compalsary. CNG comfortable engine hai. Value for money model sprint hai .. sirji I am waiting your answer. Perfect answer dijiyega.

VW’s have only one significant advantage these days and that is driving dynamics. They have started using low quality parts now, even creta feels more premium than Taigun. I have been driving VW’s since 2018. The previous gen was awesome. Current gen is similarly priced but they feel cheap now.
