I personally hate those ASMR speed builds. They're ironically not relaxing to me due to they way they're edited. Plus they don't properly demonstrate where the parts attach to, making them very poor tutorial videos

There are also magnetically activated LED units now. Its really great for a kit like sazabi where you have to remove the backback and the head to turn on the LED. All you do is go near the chest with a strong magnet and it turns on and off effortlessly.

@@citrusjuicebox I actually got a cheap version of those magnetic LED lights from an online shop from China for around 3 USD. It works just as great, though it doesn't fit snugly to the LED area

I just used a metallic green gundam marker for that area

Interestingly I had a near opposite experience when I built the 2.0. Parts wouldn't fit correctly even after cleaning them of nubs, the core fighter assembly alone was finnicky, the backs of the ankles are incredibly loose and pop off with the slightest movement, and besides the legs and the head it felt like nearly everything that could go wrong went wrong. I've got a 3.0 in my backlog and dread building that as well; I wish I had the Origin version.

I try to build in a way so that the piece goes directly onto the piece I'm currently holding, which makes the video flow better. The instructions often have you putting stuff down, building something else, and then combining sections together.

@@citrusjuicebox you started with the legs then went up. Almost opposite. And idk some of the way you did it seemed way better than the directions. I finished it. It has a loose armor piece on the forearm I can’t get to be tight like the left, one ankle armor is loose. Maybe somehow I can thicken the ball joint? And sadly a finger broke off and idk even how but I can’t get it to stay at all. I might glue but then it’s permanently giving the bird lol Anyway great video. It was a great watch, nice flow. @@Squintis Glad you enjoyed it! Most of the kits on the shelves right now are pretty good. The only ones I'd watch out for are MG God Gundam and Gundam Ver.1.5. They're quite old, and you might not want to dive into them without doing some research first. The MG GAT-X kits are pretty good, if not a little bit boring. Coming from the Ver.3.0, they're definitely much simpler. Easy to build, not too challenging, but will look nice with just panel lines and the included stickers. Be careful as well with the MG Ver.Ka kits: the Zeta, ZZ, Sazabi, are roughly the same level of depth and involvement, which is to say they're very meaty. Full Armor Unicorn is a completely different experience. The base kit it comes from is now 17 years old, so the same caveat as MG God Gundam applies. That's about all the notable cases I can remember. I just visited a hobby store yesterday. Anything else I didn't mention is a pretty safe bet all around (Arios, Force Impulse, and a few other things IIRC). Happy building!

You're not alone. Everyone thought "Emotion Manipulators SP" were an awesome gimmick when they first used in 2012, but they have proven quite unpopular.

I switched mine out with Rx78 F00 static hands.

I didn't use to care so much, but after some thinking, seeing sliding armor gimmicks on RX-78 kits bothers me too.

I personally didn't bother with those hands and bought those third party DL poseable hands, as well as Bandai's own HD 1/100 hands. Generally speaking, I really don't like poseable hands. They're expressive, sure, but they're fragile. I prefer fixed posed hands instead. EDIT: I got those HD 1/100 hands, and they sadly aren't compatible with the weapons of this kit. I guess I'm stuck with those DL hands

Bandai has generally moved on to fixed-pose hands in all kits now for good reason: easy to build, simple to design, cheap to produce, and always good-looking

I picked up those DL Dalin hands and they work better than the ones that come with the kit

I didn't have any problems, but I've built several pairs of these hands before already. There is some variation in tightness between different sets, and my only real advice is to be gentle and feel for the limits of the joints as much as you can. Ease into the motions smoothly and try not to move too quickly or sharply.

I prefer 3.0

I like 3.0 more, but Origin is easier to build

I'm not a fan of the swing-down design either. Definitely needs some reinforcement.
