6:32 the side skirting isn’t longer. They simply lowered it. In the 2.0 version these parts are topping right to the mid rift of the abdominal section while the Ver.Ka is set right at the base of it. His redesign definitely accentuates the similarities shared between the prototype Gundam and the mass production Zeta plus with the larger thrust nozzles as you guys pointed out.

I think something that isn’t thought about much also is Zeta and ZZ are through line( main series )Gundams just like RX-78. They both deserve the ver Ka treatment

After watching this video, I like the changes. They are very subtle and make what is already a sleek mobile suit even sleeker. It's like going from the Lamborghini Countach to the Lamborghini Diablo.

i'd say the biggest improvement to the looks is the shield. the ver ka shield now sits closer to the arm, so it doesnt look gaping and awkward like the 2.0. overall the ver ka seems to be more fuller than the 2.0 with the abundance of gray parts peeking out from underneath the outer armor

When it comes to the shield; part of the transformation is the shield collapsing and shorting to be used in shield mode. In the 2.0 photos, the shield is pictured extended, in wave rider mode. It's technically not pictured correctly, where the Ver Ka is right. The shield has been dramatically redesigned in the Ver. Ka, but I don't think they will end up being very different lengths when both are displayed correctly.

I'm surprised Bandai did not announce an MG XXXG-01W Wing Gundam EW Ver Ka (not even as a P-Bandai). Maybe next time? However, I will say that MG MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam Ver Ka was one kit that I predicted would be the Ver Ka and it is a huge improvement over the 2.0. It will look good next to the MG MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam Ver Ka. In terms of P-Bandai releases, I'm sure _at least_ Bandai will make a Mega Bazooka Launcher on add on set. Besides that I would guess maybe we would get a P-Bandai release for: MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam (Wave Shooter) Ver Ka MSZ-006-3A Zeta Gundam 3A Type Ver Ka MSZ-006-3B Zeta Gundam 3B Type Ver Ka MSZ-006-P2/3C Zeta Gundam P2/3C Type Ver Ka MSZ-006A1 Zeta Plus A1 Ver Ka MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam (Biosensor Image Color) Ver Ka MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam (RG Limited Color Ver.) I'm still picking this up, and leaving my 2.0 in Wave Rider mode afterwards. Disappointed that there is no Hyper Mega Launcher, but I'm still going for it.

I'm finally able to buy an MG Ver Ka... this overview really helped convince me that it is worthwhile. There is ONE thing that I think I DON'T like and wasn't covered in the video... the overall size of the backpack compared to the anime. This is MUCH more evident in the waverider mode... but the "wings" of the Zeta and the backpack overall looks a bit too small proportionally. The nose and long rifle are all longer but the wings didn't get bigger to match that so they look a bit stubby. I'll probably repaint my MG 2.0 in Amuro 3A colors.

I just built the 2.0 and it really does feel as old as it is. I wasn't planning on getting the verka but mostly because of the price... But now I'm not so sure. All of those subtle changes really make it look so different.

The 2.0 has been out for 15 years and regularly restocked so those who want one probably have it. People will probably transform it into waverider. I do prefer the new full mechanics release.

The RG actually looks more detailed than the PG 🤯

Its visuals are interesting, sleeker and more clean (although I heavily dislike the bright yellow). From these comparison I definitely prefer the MG 2.0 for its 'superhero' proportions/stance and the RG for its details (although Katoki designs are known for having less greeble and more warning markings, so it's an unfair comparison). I like the feet and lower leg vents, the latter which remind me of the Gundam Alex. The Zeta for me has always looked like a weirdo in large part due to its narrow face, which Katoki has exaggerated even more. I don't know if that makes it better or worse just yet, I have to have the head in my hand and be able to see it from more angles. In the end what will make the difference for this kit isn't its looks, but how it functions mechanically and how reliably it transforms. If this is flawless, then it'll be a great kit no matter what we each think about how it looks. But I wish we got a Gundam Mk II instead of this :)

The saggy looking chest is a big turn off imo and the lack of detail makes it look like a robot Damashii version.

The reason I love Katoki's Nu and Sazabi because it turns the plain and generic "anime" look into something the very opposite of that. Now he's been doing these so-called anime accurate kits which makes the kit look plain as fuck and no detailed gimmicks whatsoever. The mechanism of this kit is probably the best that ever exists in gunpla to this day and time no denying on that, but more than anything surface details is my major force for this hobby, and this is probably why I kept disappointed on many kits nowadays

I'm not a fan of the bigger vents. I usually like the yellow on gundams to be more subtle. The vents being bigger means more yellow

I don't think "hate" is the right word for this Ver Ka release. It's more of a "meh" and a shrugged shoulders. The worst the "hate" this got was that we have a 2.0 of this kit already, while plenty of other kits that don't or would benefit from having a Master Grade at all. On the other hand, the "hate" the Zero got was more of... annoyance I guess, in that G Self had won the poll and a Wing Custom, a kit that already technically existed, got the spot instead. I get less "hate" for this release, and more just a general apathy. While I bought the Zero Custom because I am a sucker for the Zero/Custom, I probably won't bother with this kit.

I only own the HGUC Gunpla Evolution Zeta Gundam, I will pick up the Ver. Ka Zeta Gundam because I don’t own a MG of the Zeta. I do wish the surface detail could’ve matched or be in between line art accuracy and the RG Zeta, but then again nobody has this kit reviewed yet.

For most people (and I could be wrong) I don't think they're bashing this kit or even mad that it exists, its more like "This new Ver Ka looks awesome and better than the 2.0 in some ways, but the 2.0 is excellent and the Ver Ka should have been something else" A Ver Ka Zeta would have been awesome eventually, but there are so many other kits deserving of the Ver Ka retooling. Especially with how much time goes by between Ver Ka releases. I mean the next one is probably gonna be the Ariel since its the new Gundam anime. Ver Ka Barbatos would have been cool. Ver Ka Hyaku-Shiki even if sticking with the Zeta Gundam anime was the point. Either way, this new Zeta is pretty dope and I'll pick it up eventually.

I too am a fan of the Zeta Gundam, but I prefer the proportions of the 2.0, it’s more anime accurate. Plus it comes with the mega launcher and action base and has a lower MSRP than the Ver Ka. The 2.0 MSRP was 5,500 yen while the Ver Ka is 7,500 yen.

Biggest difference between all 3 is that the rg is a hand grenade whereas the other two aren't

I honestly really like the redesigns individually, but I really dislike how it lost so much mass on it. I prefer the heavy look of 2.0 better. Something that I can say for sure is that I really dislike the new marking decals. They look so boring.

Been waiting for a Zeta Ver.Ka. So glad it happened. Might save up money and grab one for myself. :)

I hope this gives Katoki an excuse to make a 2.0 Zeta plus master grade kit based on this kit. And hopefully not a P-Bandai…

My unpopular opinion, the 2.0 looks better than the Ver.ka. I don't like its proportion. Flat chest, gorilla hands. I know its a re-design but for me its ugly.
