MGoFilm Analysis 2019 - Episode 2.1 (Part 1/2) || Army || Offensive Reads

Man, Michigan had some troubles against the Black Knights of West Point, and a lot of that was on the offensive side of the ball.
In this episode, I analyze every single read in the first half of this game, and determine whether the read was Correct, Wrong, Debatable, or Doomed.
In part 2 of this episode (later tonight / tomorrow) I will cover the reads from the second half.

Kyle P Switching qbs before the biggest game yet is not the move. Patterson said he’s 100% now so give him a chance and see how he does on saturday

@@SeVupGames hes not 100% harbaugh has the players lie. An oblique injury only gets better with rest and hes been practicing and throwing hes probably at 75%

Great film analysis! I kept hearing that Shae missed every read. After watching, I see that he definitely missed some reads but some of the gives were correct. Also I see some of the blocking on the outside can be improved so that we could have longer run plays. Looking forward to watching the part 2!

Thanks for your vid for showing me what i knew i was seeing our QB making bad reads this game was badly coached on the offensive side the defence played a great game i really didn't understand what the Offence coaching didn't address the miss reads by the QB

Could it have been that Shea was hurt and did not want to run on those missed reads?

I absolutely think a lot of these reads where he would've been running the ball, he was instructed to NOT keep. Army played like they knew this, as well. Some evidence that I think supports this, which will show in Part 2 of this read analysis, is that Patterson messed up an RPO read and was immediately pulled for McCaffrey. He was not pulled after any number of his missed run reads, which there were plenty of before this missed RPO read. SO, I think he played most RPOs correctly, but the run reads where he would keep and run were often called WITHOUT the option to keep, for whatever reason.

Why is people talking about Michigan like they are 0-2, this team is 2-0. I rather a team to look bad in the first 2 game offensively then to come out and put up 70 points and the third game 17 against Temple. I watched a lot of college football and seen teams turn it around, Northwestern being one of them last year. They was 1-3 with a lost to Akron and went 8-1 in the bigten. osu back in 2014 first game against Navy did not play well and a lost the following week to VT at home, then that offense with JT and Ezekiel just went off on everyone to win the first every college playoff national championship. notre dame last year played bad against Ball State and Vanderbilt but when the made an QB change they took off, maybe that could be the case for Michigan against Wisconsin if things get out of hand and Shea is still fumbling the ball, go with Dylan to see what he can do as the guy. And the last point about notre dome last they was loaded at the WR spot and Wimbush could not get it done. I just would not count Michigan out just yet
