wow don't I feel like a dumbass, i never knew you could block his attacks... and i finished this on EE back on PS2...fuck...

Wow I didn't know you could chop the missiles in half. Bad ass. Also I always loved how Solidus' suit, resembles the suit of Gray Fox. At least the weird spine pattern.

I never knew you could slice the homing missiles, that made the fight so much easier once I got the timing and direction facing down.

Oh god this game brings up memories; one of my all time favourites. MGS4 is currently my fave lol.

The Patriots used them like a plaything... those bastards! Love the way you cut those missiles. Like a pro. ;)

Dude!!! Thanks to you, i finally beat the game on Extreme mode. I was stuck on solidus and must of died like 50 times, until I watched your tactics which helped very much!!! You just have to know the pattern of his moves. The battle with all the rays was a challenge too, they just kept coming forever until finally......Victory, what a good feeling.

Thankx for the vid. I always wanted to see this boss. Is he the Ninja in this game? He seems to fight like one... It's neat to see his face too, he's the closest version of Big Boss's old age form.

OMG you're freaking brilliant at this. I didn't even know you could block his sword and projectile attacks! i spent every time just running back and forth trying to evade him hahaha

There’s a really easy way to beat him. Him him twice with sword, pause for about 2 seconds, then hit him again with sword , he will block it. He then will try to kick you, block it, and repeat the process of hitting him twice e.c.t. Easy loop

Amazing...No other word can describe this fight. also this in my opinion is the greatest video game music EVER. Although he is quite easy to defeat he is the splitting image of big boss himself and is said to be a perfect clone of him in MGS4. Its quite a shame what happens after the events of this battle to solidus being forced alive on a life device and then being through into fire to burn away....

It was so cool how you used the bdu suit to extinguisher the flames that were on you.

VERY WELL DONE! I did beat normal mode with 0 continues or game overs, but now, I'm gonna try to beat european extreme without dying once. :) Wish me luck!

@NemesisTypeT What's the difference? Also, It's just that whenever I comboeod with stamina defeat, I did 2 slashes and a stab, so if I just put it in attack, it did more.

I usualy forgot to block in that fight... The bdu trick was impressive, i didnt knew that. Also the part where you deflected the missiles, its more efective to just stay relatively close to him but far enough for him to lauch the missles, then when he gets ready to lauchs, catwheel directly to him and you will go between the missles and he will be totaly exposed to your atacks.

I don't know if it's the same on euro extreme, but on normal extreme, when he shoots his 4 missiles at you, you can just run and flip towards him to dodge them, and at the same time setting you up for a 3 hit combo because he is open immediately after shooting the missiles. Even if you are too slow to get your hits in, if you block immediately he will try to kick you, then leading to your opening.

how the f to pass the button tapping on top of arsenal gear ( in eu extreme ) PLEASE!

if you press X, and the blade turns red instead of blue on the equip menu, you do more damage with swipes. you're hitting with the back of the blade when it's blue.

Amazing strategy, i didnt know.. You could hit those missiles with the blade ( I always ran from them) And neither i knew you could block his dives after he throws aways the tentacles.. i always complicated my life by just running from him x_o

Tutorial: L1 followed by an attack Seriously Press L1 to block attacks, move the right joistick to hit him, and look in first person to keep solidus in the center of the screen, so you will never fail your blocks (easy boss)

I'm amazed with the fight, but truly impressed you survived the torture prior to that....did you use autofire or normal controllers?

Raiden looks way cooler with the BDU i always thought. i was glad you could wear it in cut scenes

You make Raiden look like the boss of the game :S

by knocking out all the boss´s you add some experince point to your no kill bonus that shows up in the end of the game, if you finish the game with no-kill, no alarm you get the rank big boss.

@chargerfighter1 Yeah. I know. In retrospect, I was talking about MGS's general fact of ending games in one-on-one close quarters fights (in relation to MGS2 ending in a 1-1 sword fight between Raiden and Solidus). But I lost sight, and don't even know what I was trying to say anymore xD

Yeah, if you speak to Otakon during the fight, he'll suggest it to you. It becomes really difficult to dodge them in Extreme Mode because the missles home in really well, so it's much easier to hit them instead.

@michaelj1230 E. Extreme has no rations unlike the rest but you can still use the radar (if you want) unlike MGS1

if you would notice he had no damage taken despite being hit. The fire had no time to damage him because he got rid of his body armor and out the fire out.
