MGTF160 Heater Blower Resistor Pack Replacement

It is not unusual for the blower motor on the MGTF's heater not to operate on one or all of the speeds. Often that will be due to a failure of one or more of the resistors used to regulate the blower speed. This video shows how to find and replace the resistors.

When you're getting as old and stiff as I am, it's a good idea to whip the passenger seat out as well. Makes access possible, even for me!

Thought I'd struck gold finding this video. Unfortunately my '97 MGF is different in as much as it has air conditioning and the heater box assembly is also on the left and right in the way of the resistor pack!

Excellent Video, mine needs doing and I came across this, think I will await better weather for access, looks very uncomfortable. These days I just take photos of connections on my phone, then there is no risk of the label falling off. The resistances you quote seem low, how did you find the correct one to fit?

I replaced this resistor today, only I drive a Mg with the pedals and steering wheel on the other side... no room to fiddle..It was almost impossible to get to.

Hi Mike I bought from Discount MG Rover Spares they are on E-bay or try: www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/ceramic-heater-resistor-repair-pack-200-400-25-45-zr-zs The ceramic resistors come with instructions.
