Just ordered a flat stick for my c6z. Can’t wait. I RARELY miss gears in any other cars, always miss 3rd with my stock c6z shifter.

Dude. same! Never had an issue with 3rd tell this car. You will love this shifter, it almost feels like cheating going to 3rd cause you just push up lol

I watched this again......Dang, really a great job doing this video ! Excellent details. It's always hard to hold the camera steady but you did an amazing job....so helpful to all of us....I am getting the flat shaft red one too! BIG thanks! Tim in Colorado

Vibration through the shift knob is usually an indication of a problem with your torque tube!

One fail on mgw's part with this shifter is no cover for the bottom of the assembly to protect the guts grom all the gunk and crap that accumulate during use!! Just take a piece of scrap rubber, cut to fit, and glue it to the bottom!!

Thank you! I recommend the MGW for sure, the bolt action feel is badass and makes it feel more race car for sure. lol it is a bit more than the hurst but i think its worth it.

Thanks for this video, i have some videos on my channel too. I just put my 2007 corvette in storage, and am considering getting a MGW for mine too. It seems like my stock shifter doesnt quite shift all the way into first sometimes (causing some grinding sound on take off only) and in reverse too. I wonder if just getting this shifter will fix that issue

I'm thinking the bushing on the bottom of your shifter is worn out or getting worn and its not allowing you to get all the way in those gears. thats just my guess without being able to check it out lol I do recommend the MGW for sure though!

Do you have an update on this? Check your clutch master cylinder. Very cheap to replace. $60 part and 1 hour labour.

Hi Robert! you are very welcome! and i 100% recommend this mod. At the time of the video i had just the Borla ATAK mufflers, now i have the long tube headers, catless x-pipe with the Borla Ataks.

Did the dynamat and sound/heat barrier sheet come with it? On their website I see they have a add on for $5 for 10x10 sound/heat barrier sheet, does this include that dynamat??

Thank you brobeans! I appreciate it! The wheels are 20x12 with a -44 offset, The tires are 305/50/20 and the truck has a 3in torsion key and block lift. By far my favorite setup I've done with the truck so far.

Cool video. I installed a new one on mine but for some reason the rubber dust/heat shield was pinned inside the access hole for the shifter and had to be cut out it wasn't bolted on like your was. weird.

I'm going to install the same flat shifter (2013 c6) how did you remove the metal ring from the "shift boot" ? in order to install the rubber grommet provided ... Great video Thank you ...

Hi Mitch Thanks for your reply. I live in Australia, there are not many ZO6 C6 on the road. Hence doing Mods to my car is a challenge as I can not see, listen to mods first hand. I have looked at the Borla systems on You Tube and am very interested in them. Does your current system drone? I do not want a droning noise in the small cabin.!! FYI I have a 2010 Z06 C6 in silver, which had to be converted to RHD when I sent it home from Saudi. Do you have a video on your current exhaust system. Thanks Robert

Sorry for the late response, That sounds like it would defiantly be a pain to decide on parts. I have basically zero drone! honestly they tires i have are louder on the highway than the exhaust when cruising at 70-80 mph. Side note, I love silver ZO6's! any trouble looking for 5th? i just installed mine but havent had a chance to drive it. I noticed while parked and rowing thru the gears that 5h seems almost non-existent sometimes and I end up in reverse most of the time

I went with MGW because it's spring assested to center wich makes finding third so much easier. Quality to me is a bit better than Hurst and Henson as well.

I just put this exact shifter in my 2006 ZO6 and I hate it, I can't shift to save my life anymore and I never missed a gear with the stock shifter. It's almost impossible to get into reverse, it's unbelievably stiff and I miss gears left and right and often hit neutral when I'm trying to go between gears and redline the car. Huge waste of money!

Oof, that extra sucks. Sounds like it may not have been centered properly during install, that’s the first time I’ve heard of those issues.

I bought mine with the b&m shifter already installed. I'm not sure I like the way it shifts. I'm gonna buy the MGW I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I haven't had experience with b&m in our cars but I can say I love the MGW. It's a little too race car feel for some people but I'm dig it and the spring assist to center makes 3rd super easy to hit now.

@@MitchCarveth Does it feel like you have to really try for 6th at all or is it super nice to throw it in? The b&m in mine makes it a bit of a challenge to hold over and put in 6th gear. I mean not stupid hard but harder than any other gear for sure.
