i think his heart is getting mini-explosions, pumping his glycerin blood through his body (now enhanced? by edgeshots help) and maybe even using mini explosions to propel his limbs even faster and harder than his muscles allow. I think his speed and control will be such stronger. conspiracvy time, he ends up doing a dabi but at nuke levels and takes out shiggy to save everyone, solidifying him as number one. It would be so sad, but also it would be so fitting of the series that shows anyone can become the best, and being a hero isnt just what you do but why you do it.

When bakugou first used cluster bomb he was no diffing shigaraki until his body was destroyed because he already had a huge hole the his chest and stomach, his bones were shattered, and he was literally dieing. On top of that, bakugou gets much stronger by feeling extreme pain and his body being held together by string right now and he clapping prime all for one. An fresh uninjured current bakugou claps Deku. Especially since every time Deku damages him (which will already won’t be able to do much because bakugou was casually perception blitzing shigaraki even before he unlocked his ability to turn pain into a permanent power boost by evolving the quirk more
