Extremely good pleats. I don't have serger/overlock so do you think a basting stitch seam and zigzag edge would be good?

@@MiaDIYsewing Thank you. A few years I bought a Singer Simple so I'd have zigzag and could make a bandanna dress. My Singer 1929 model came before the zigzag stitch on domestic machines. I ♥ Singer.

How firm are the buttons. What do you call the gadget. It was so so easy to do the buttons with this kind of simple revert jack. Is it available on Amazon.

You could discreetly hand sew the back to keep the buttoned area together. I do this on all dress les that are buttoned all the way down.
