Instead of wearing the dresses in public, you need to get a crown, wear the Cinderella dress, and go visit kiddos at your local children’s hospital or pediatric unit (if no children’s hospital). They would LOVE it 🥰

As a fellow Canadian the residential schools hurt my heart, I'm so glad you decided to donate to them this time. I'm also glad it is getting more attention around the world. I remember learning about it and the horrors against Japanese Canadians in the past in about eight grade and it floored me. I really hope we are able to change things for the future for the better ❤️

@@turtletail313 the last one closed in 1996. The reason is has been a huge topic lately is because of the bodies that have been found as well as the survivors that are finally being heard. For so long they tried to tell their stories but nobody would listen.

Thank you Mia for your donations to the RISS. My family has been effected by the boarding schools and we are survivors. My grandparents were sent to boarding school as well as my children’s dad’s dad. Lots of traumatic history. I’m so glad people are learning about these boarding schools.

Thank you for bringing attention to the Native Residential schools. My husband is Native Canadian. His moms, bio, and adopted (his aunt) were taken from their homes and forced to go to these schools. It affected their whole lives, which sadly were not long. Thank you Mia💙💙💙

i feel like such a harsh critic, but it has nothing to do with Mia. the dresses all looked very similar to the product pictures but some of them were underwhelming. the pink one was lacking some darker pinks at the bottom of the skirt, the navy one’s “mermaid” part started a LOT lower than the product picture and was significantly more sheer around the neckline than what was pictured. the “pajama” dress definitely was lacking the regality that the product picture showed, it just seemed cheap in comparison to the picture. all of that being said, if i was shopping for prom dresses, i would definitely consider purchasing from this brand, the pricing is definitely fair for the quality. also, Mia is so cute saying she wants to run though a field in the final dress

I think it has to do with the fact that this brand like many others (I'm looking at you WISH) don't design the dresses they make. They steal pictures for their marketing and make bootleg dresses using the pictures as references when they make their copies. That's why they always are so cheap and also why most of the cheap dresses she's tired never really looks like in the pictures. They are also mostly made with slave labour.. But those things are not faults of Mia but the fashion industry as a whole right now.

If you look very closely the blue one is still sheer up top. there is a huge lighting difference in the photos and I'm sure the pose changes the jammy one quite a bit. You would be surprised what pose tricks they have to make it look like a whole different dress. could be wrong just trying to stay hopeful cause i would definitely buy from them.

@@sweetoleander9048 One of the ways you can judge for yourself if a brand makes their own stuff or steals photos and bootlegs them is to just pay attention to the photos they're using! For example, are they using the same model/mannequin/studio set for every dress? Paying for a model, a photographer, a studio, a makeup artist, a hair stylist, and a stylist or hiring accessories, etc. are not cheap! Photoshoots aren't cheap, and neither is purchasing all the stuff to shoot on a mannequin in your own studio. Because of this, most designers will only shoot with 2 or 3 models per year, or only use 1 or 2 locations. It's fairly easy to spot when a brand does a seasonal photoshoot versus bootleggers stealing photographs once you know what to look for. If a brand has dozens of models in dozens of locations, but the odd photo is shot on a mannequin, or some random ones are CGI, you can bet money that they're stealing photos and selling bootlegged products. Another quick way to catch this is to just reverse image search for the photos - if you're using google Chrome as your browser, just right click on an image and choose "search Google for image". You can also check out their "About Us" page. Indie designers love to share their story - where they're from, what they do, why they do it. Companies that sell bootlegs (or worse, dropship lousy items from wish and pocket the profit) generally have a very vague "about us" section. Some companies don't even bother, or only put in 1 or 2 sentences. It's not always accurate, but it's just one more thing you can look for. Finally, brands that make every dress, in every style, in every color under the sun, at a reasonably cheap price point (or running massive sales regularly), are almost always too good to be true. I've only ever found one shop that legitimately did this - and it was easy to tell they were legitimate, too. Every dress was shot on the same of 1 of 4 models, or a mannequin. Each dress was usually shot in 3 or 4 colors (their most popular colors), and then they had an entire page dedicated to their fabrics and how you could purchase a set of color swatches. They added 30-40 dresses per season, but kept older styles in their shop. As items were made-to-order, nothing was on sale (because there was never any stock to clear out). Everything about their website and photos was uniform! You can use these tips for things other than gowns, too. Like I said - once you know what to look for, it's easy to spot. I hope it keeps you from spending money on a terrible quality item. I hate seeing people fooled into paying for a drop-shipped item off of wish from a website that pretends to be legitimate. Sorry for the essay haha

@@sweetoleander9048 I have looked a bit at both the photon on Hebeos and zoomed in at multiple angels in the video. It is still sheer yes, But it does not have as many layers of skirt fabric as is shown in the picture. The flowers on the skirt are way fewer and does not have the right shape (look especially at the bottom of the skirt and compare the picture to the video) There is a reason they only have one picture on the dress and just in one colour on the website. They are cheap nock-offs and someone has not been getting properly paid along the way

I'm so happy you decided to donate to the indigenous charity. Just a heads up, that even though we're in Canada, many reservations do not have running water. Through the heat wave, each household was given 1 case of water to get them through it. It is crazy to think that we're fighting about oil and such a, but can't give our people water.

I’m so great full for where you donated to. As a aboriginal Canadian and I have many family members and friends who have survived the residential school, my grandparents were survivors I just lost my grandmother from my dads side and my grandfather on my moms side, it was hard losing them as they were my only surviving grandparents who were alive, they lived a long loving life after the residential school and they are my families hero’s. THANK YOU MIA FOR MENTIONING THE BOARDING/RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL AND THE INTER-GENERATIONAL TRAUMA we suffer from! I’m crying rn 😭😭😭😭 my non-profit Indigenous Beginnings has a mission to help heal inter-generational trauma with hosting cultural workshops. Since some families were taken to those schools and the teachings were not passed down from generation to generation. Hey Mia! You should do a video that is a “Prom Get Ready With Me”! You could do hair, makeup, and pick out one of your many dresses if they aren’t donated yet. We don't even have prom in my country and I'm over 40 and I still love seeing Mia try out all these dresses. Granted, she isn't my go to KZfaqr when I need an honest and extensive review (she's too sweet for that), but it does lift my mood every single time I see her. She's a shining light in these dark days (having a compromised immune system and already too many days being bedridden & in severe pain before Covid, these last 2yrs have been extra awful). Thanks for being you, Mia. You and your family are a blessing 😙.

The reason the dresses look slightly different from the product photos is because they steal those photos from other designers. I've literally seen Teuta Matoshi dresses on their website, using the same product photos that Teuta Matoshi does. And then they recreate the dresses for much cheaper (which probably means workers aren't being paid fairly) and without the original designers permission. So probably not the most ethical brand. I love your videos though, Mia!
