As someone who's worn lolita fashion out for, like, random shopping trips and groceries and such, I really recommend wearing fancy stuff to everyday things. I've gotten quite a few lovely compliments. Especially compliments from little kids are the best! (And older ladies.)

As someone who's done Cosplay, the key is to pretend that this is normal (in our case, it's getting to the convention center and having food breaks outside, taking photos and stuff like it). The longer you pretend, the more it will actually feel like it and it'll end up being a lot of fun seeing reactions from people.

The IKEA visit DEFINITELY gave cosplay vibes lol. Oh how I miss being in mall conventions and seeing the food court full of people in costume with the normal, clueless civilian here and there. It's easier with cons because hundreds of people are doing the same, but when you're out of the event area, it's definitely fake it till you make it or ignore the stares lol. It helps being with a friend or two, too. May or may not be in cosplay as well. Edit: But I fr do miss cosplay events. I miss the bustle and the smiles they bring. And I'm an introvert.

The First dress actually just looks like a really pretty fancy summer dress I would wear it outside now the second dose was very pretty but it doesn't look like a dress that would be comfortable wearing out unless you're going to an event but it still was very pretty and I wouldn't think anything of it if I saw someone in the store I probably would think maybe they were on their way somewhere and needed something and just ran in the store real quick

I always thought it's sad to leave beautiful dresses hanging in the closet. St Jude is so amazing because the parents don’t have to pay for their kids treatment, donations pay for everything! In high school we did a dance marathon each year to raise money for them 💕

Definitely! After my brother's wedding, I had to run and grab a few things while all dressed up. 10/10 anxiety inducing--until I noticed people smiling at me and someone actually stopped me to compliment how I looked! I also got several "congratulations" from people, and a random "happy birthday". People genuinely don't mind, and will assume it's for an event. Any time I'm anxious in public, I keep that in my head.

Girl, I feel you! I used to do princess parties professionally. Sometimes on the way to a party, I would need to stop and get coffee, get gas, etc. Nothing more awkward than pumping gas in a full ballgown and tiara to a myriad of stares!

I just love how Mama Maples is so fun! Catching yarn like it's a game with her adult children. Seriously love this family! Also Mama Maples laugh is soo contagious when she was giggling after zipping up Mia in the back seat instantly made me giggle.

Honestly, I think ppl look so hard because no one really dresses up anymore and they are really pretty dresses. The dress that you wore to IKEA would’ve been really pretty at like a flower nursery. Just got to the end of the video, if you have a Belle ball gown, going to the library will cause some major excitement for kids

I've started wearing fancier clothing out here and there and one of the things I've figure out is others don't pay that much attention to what you are wearing. I get more nervous and worried about it than others do.

As someone who causally does this on multiple occasions it was interesting to see someone who isn’t comfortable with it trying it out. I still remember the anxiety I’d gotten when I started do that but now it’s just funny to see how much attention you get just by dressing up 😂

I literally have social anxiety (as one of many shitty illnesses) but I do something at least close to this all the time because it somehow helps with going out to public 😅 I wear like huge Tull skirts and long dresses and stuff like that because with them I feel confident enough to at least be able to leave the house
