Also you can go Turkey. Turkey's beaches are very incredible. Espacially you must see Antalya, Bodrum, Çeşme ..

I visited Durres back in '94 and especially cool at the time was the Roman amphitheater, especially the underground rooms for gladiators, and of course lions. Writings on the wall from Roman days. So interesting and fresh.

I have a teenage daughter with autism so thank you for comparing the level of noise and business to Tirana. I was trying to decide if Durres would be too slow for me but Tirana would be too loud and overstimulating for my daughter. Looks like Durres is the best of both worlds for us!

We spent a week in Durres a few days ago, and we loved it! Durres is indeed a beautiful place to visit. We went for summertime and recommended, it's perfect because you can enjoy the beaches and the vibrant atmosphere. Also recommend Airbnb, there are plenty of great options. Definitely look for places near the beach or the city center to make the most of your stay!

2:05 those buildings are not modern at all,but those are the buildings from old durres ,which means those are buildings that hoxha never destroyed like the rest of the small privet and beautiful architectural buildings to build his factories and those house boxes, all the Albanian cities had this kind of architecture on the coast ,the rest of the cities like tirana elbasan etc used to have houses like those in southern albania like gjirokaster build with rocks ,while shkoder was one of the most beautiful and bigger cities because it was a mix also with Austrohungerian and Venice architecture,but as you see....little left from this buildings and the reason is :enver hoxha ,even today they keep destroying and abandoning the old houses to build those "modern one " which looks like cr@p

The ice cream had figs on which I hate 🤮 and I get really awkward when a shop owner sees me looking/waiting and then I don’t buy something so that’s why I said run. Nothing to do with the lady, just the ice cream.
