| MIC’ING A LESLIE SPEAKER 🎙
This being my second experiment like this, I wanted to see what different microphone configurations would sound like. Leslie cabinets are such a unique speaker so possibilities are endless when it comes to producing the sound you want.
MUSICIANS, if you have suggestions on how you get a great sound, please feel free to drop it in the comments!

I was going to say that if you have more than one mic on the top spinning horn, it will be unnatural, because the human ear only hears it from a single position.

I like the 3 in the back two at the top and the bass mic at the bottom nice full sound

I used to hear this song working overnights while sticking at a grocery store....i always fought the tears, hearing thi man play this brings is making me cry! 🤦🏿‍♂️😭

Back in the day we had the Leslie off stage, and miced either side of the top rotor, thru stereo pa as to get that broad sweep. But we stole that idea off Rod Argent.

The swell pedal on a B3 just cant be duplicated on any clones.

I like the 3 mics on the leslie but the 4th gives it additional power which I like too making a spacial sound. As a sound guy setting up mics at a local church I just learned the 4 mic technique. Thanks @Jared Alston for the song selection and miking up the Leslie speaker.
