I prefer not to compare Mr. Buble to Mr. Sinatra. I am just glad Buble is keeping the big band sound alive for young listeners today.

I got the same feeling with this song. Both are excellent, and each brings their own flavour to the banquet. cheers!

I liked Sinatra's version but Joe Williams' version is my all-time favorite. Probably because I first heard it in the Steve Martin-Lily Tomlin movie "All of Me."

All of me, why not take all of me? Can't you see? I'm no good without you Take my lips, I wanna lose them Take my arms, I'll never use them Your goodbyes, they left me with eyes that cry How can I Get along without you? You took the part that once was my heart So why not take all of me Let's go, boys, let's go Your goodbye, left me with eyes that cry Now I'm lost without you And now that you took that part That used to be my heart All of me, why not take all of me Can't you see, I'm a mess without you You took the part that used to be my heart So why not take all of me?

Are you kidding? Frank Sinatra turned 37 in 1952. He had sung with the Harry james and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras, swooned screaming Bobby-Soxers at the Paramount, had prominent roles in a dozen movies, just ended a 9 year recording contract with Columbia Records. His experience far exceeded Mr. Buble. As far as popularity, well you could make the argument that by then his career looked like it was over. But it was less than 2 years before he won an Oscar!

Haha! I play all orchestra instruments (I'm a conductor-in-training I guess) and that's just how you play the bass! The strings are super thick so you if you're playing pizzicato, you have to pluck the strings with two fingers.
@markviman8 жыл бұрын
No, man. He's thinking, "Get the F%#& off of my instrument and stop slapping it! Not cool!"

Sinatra's technically sublime in the 40s, of course... Connick, a great musician, though a limited singer, when compared to the very best... Buble has thee most adaptable voice/stylistics today... crooning, popping, jazzing, swinging... he's very good crossing over a lot of genres...

If Sinatra and all the artist of his era were still alive, singing, and performing... They'd hate Bublé for what he brings to the table so effortlessly, I enjoy hearing all versions original and remakes, no two versions are alike and for that music is a wonderful thing to have
@Cruz_ignatius2 жыл бұрын
It’s true buble has easy pitch like Mel torme !
@criddic212 жыл бұрын
@Lisaj4431 Actually he does pretty well with this one. There'll never be another Sinatra, who sang this song several times, even way back in the 1940s (his Columbia version is a knock-out). And, yes, Harry Connick is great (his recent take on "All the Way" being a notable nod to Frank). But there's room for everyone....nice to know this music is being performed in the 21st century!

@Lisaj4431 It's a jazz standard.... That's the point. Pretty sure Sinatra rocked this before Harry Connick Jr. Learn to love.
@oswinhaas10 жыл бұрын
He is really a great imitator of Frank Sinatra. Here is a more independent version of the song. Just type into google: "Oswin L. Lone, "All Of Me" (Jazz Standard)"
@AllthatJazz6212 жыл бұрын
@Belllady71 I though his voice was pretty unique. People often compare him to Sinatra saying he sounds like him...let's get serious, he sounds absolutely nothing Frank at all. Nor does he sound like Harry Connick Jr. I've never heard a voice nearly close to his, his is very distinct and hard to match.
