I portrayed Michael Cera as Mark Lindsay; he was one of the members of this Sentimental/Radical 60s teen rock group called Paul Revere and the Raiders. I did it as a form of a reenactment about what was going on with the Batman TV series and children's CBS Saturday morning cartoon series, on and off the set.

Still all his films do that and the others ones aren't annoying to watch like Close-Up which seems like a failed film to me. The directors other films have engaging sections that examine real life Iranians, Close Up never allows you to get a real feel for this impersonator character, I think it was a better idea on paper than in reality. Straight Time with Dustin Hoffman deserves to be in the collection. Great film that not a lot of people know about!

Agreed. STRAIGHT TIME is an incredibly underrated film.

big up on the Straight Time mention at the end...great and (still) a very underrated film.

He seems so innocent and kindhearted it’s amazing. It makes me like him even more.

Good Morning is one of my favorites. Tokyo Story and Autumn Afternoon are also terrific, but I think Good Morning doesn't get enough attention. Great pick.

Guys like Michael Cera with underdog aura are so adorable even if it seems like they wouldn’t fight for you 😩

Cera, you are awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed this Closet Picks. Thank you :)

Michael is fucking adorable and that is THE MOST Michael Cera shirt I've ever seen. If SNL had someone play Michael Cera that'd be the shirt they'd pick.

Does this mean a Superbad criterion?!?
@sweetandtender189 жыл бұрын
evanatthedisco NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

evanatthedisco Obviously it means a Scott Pilgrim Criterion.
@PinkFloydrulez9 жыл бұрын
evanatthedisco i'd be so down for that, i was just thinking about it the other day. superbad is so misunderstood and underrated. criterion always has some releases that are way more questionable than superbad would be

greendaythebeatles I'd actually love that. I bet there's a ton of stuff Edgar Wright had to leave out.

Damn he really knows his stuff about film. I feel like most actors have no way near this kind of appreciation.

Yooo Michael Cera knows his shit. Not only did he choose Ozu and Kiarostami, he knew Good Morning is a remake of another one of Ozu's films.

Honestly, at first I thought he was being sarcastic, but then it became clear he knows too much about these movies to not mean what he's saying.

He's actually a very smart guy.

I love how he puts them back, it really shows that he cares more about talking about what the films mean to him, rather than getting free blu rays. (Not that there’s anything wrong with taking free blu rays that have been offered to you)

Michael Cera amusing Michael Cera with a DVD cover that matches Michael Cera's tshirt. Love it.
