Right. It's a mantra much like Trump Russia collusion, the big lie, insurrection, right wing extremists...just the media repeating their current narrative. Worse, the judge allowed the Biden DOJ to state to the jury, that they were "illegal payments".

You either are reallly dense and haven't actually paid attention to the trial at all. Probably a trump supporter who just assumes he is innocent because he told you. I will explain to anyone who reads this. Trump paid 130k out of campaign funds to pay a pornstar he slept with so she wouldn't talk about it until after he got into office or lost the election, that is illegal. Not the sleeping with a pornstar, his infidelity is his own business. The using presidential campaign funds to do it is the issue.

Everyday, companies silence ex-employees and phony persecution charges. Many people come up with schemes to force companies and men/women to pay them money. They (falsely) accuse a company of something (that's usually not provable and/or shady). It would cost the company more to go to court than to "settle." To shut them up, companies include a non-disclosure ** document/agreement/clause to stop the con-artists from spreading more rumors. Con-artists do this every day, like ex-employees calling a company racists or an employee claiming injury or sexual harassment. It happens so much that it is a sector and category within Law Practices. These cases are usually false and the company pays them off. It is one of the darker sides of doing business in a country that has a Good Judicial System; you're a "mark" and (bad) people are evil and looking for a quick buck. They're also called grifters, blackmailer, con-artists, scammer. Its been happening since employers have had employees and their governments have court systems. Sometimes the case might be true, and that scenario, a company wants to keep their mistakes on the "hush." Its cheaper to "settle" instead of going through a court procedure. That also usually includes a NDA (document). Somtimes its called a "hush" so that "trade secrets" of the company don't become disclosed or out in the open. Like knowing the "trade secret recipe of Chick Fillet." So "hush money" has multiple definitions or possible combinations. "Hush money" is the derogatory word for a shutting up a scammer / [confidence artist ] / grifter / [ blackmailer ]. "Hush money" is also a derogatory word for concealing mistakes of a company. "Hush money" is a settlement (agreement). "Hush money" is used by lawyers during the "bye and bye" as short-hand within notes and you don't know the details. The press copied the term because its slang vocabulary used by professionals. If you ever break the "hush money" and non-disclosure deal, then the payee usually included a claw-back clause to get the money and even more money back to punish you. If you are ever a man in high places, you have to prepare for these risks because women/females and criminal men come out of the woodwork like cockroaches to antagonize you out of your reputation and/or finances. Example Trump. This is the first time, the evil party is doing it against a (ex) President during a campaign and weaponizing the Judicial Branch (where they never had evidence). Hush Money Case. There are so many hushes in this wack-job that its just one step from being the work of Satan. P.S. Satan is a antagonist in many old religions that was the lawyer/advocate that persecutes everything in the court (of god or government). He/she sought to destroy everything via persecution. This behavior is so old and well known that scribes, historians, and academics of the past gave it a name: Satan.

He raped her and paid her off to stay quite. It was a couple elections ago when he went to office. He changed records and tried to hide the money. This is what law he broke. Making false paperwork to his company, bank, etc.
