First of all always a good show. I've got this feeling that there's a new fresh chapter starting at Liverpool FC positive and a mega rebuild. I feel that the league will be won with a slight more ease

It's Promotion in way for Edwards. Which to be fair when you have done well, should be the progression in your career. The owners have the opportunity to do this for him and feels good as he actually hasn't gone to another club who wanted him. Also for him personally he must love Liverpool to want to come back. So while he has successfully signed players, he now will be a big part in finding the new manager. For the owners it's a no Brainer as they have loved how he has completed major signings for players saving vasts amounts of money

Just playing devils advocate but do you think there was any animosity between Klopp and Edwards and he's only coming back because Klopp is leaving?

If he was back in his old role I would think yes. I think he wouldn't have liked klopp having more power as he would then have had less. But doubt any issue between them. The much wider scope of the role is why he is back, not the fact klopp is leaving

It’s a high pressure environment and both are really strong personalities behind the scenes so it wouldn’t be a surprise. I doubt it was personal. Getting Edwards back was the best thing we could’ve done because you’re never gonna find a manager with Klopps aura

There are rumours or were that Klopp was fuming when we ended up with Kabak and Ben Davies after all those defensive injuries and that he blamed Edwards in 2021. Edwards left the following year.

@@nonnayoubuzinnes1669 And, tbf, along with the Keita signing, that was a valid criticism of Edwards. Klopp is also not w\o "misses" in terms of personnel decisions both short and long term ( holding onto aging mids 1-2 yrs too long was on Klopp ). Bottom line, both have had way more hits than misses. On many topics they were in alignment ( e.g. like to give youth opportunity to both save $ and provide a path + hope for academy players of playing for the 1st team, no knob heads policy, etc. )

Definitely was, he’d have shown the former captain the door at lot sooner if he had his way, I’d wager, and I’d have agreed with him. Glad he’s back
