This had to be one of the most painful realizations for Michael Franzese. And those guys with the interruptions. Man, when someone is sharing something that deeply painful with you, you don't just rush the convo along like that, you acknowledge the solemnity of what they're experiencing as they're telling you.

6:10 My intuition 1. his father knew what he was doing 2. he saved himself 3. by saving himself, he left Carmine two options a. kill Michael, and face the father of the killed son, over time; discomforting b. let Micheal live, face the father of the saved son, over time; comforting 4. Carmine was wise too, when he noticed he couldn’t take out the father, he let the two live 5. The father took a counter intuitive position that saved both. 6. If the father had defended Micheal. The last thing Michael would probably have seen on this earth was his father's blood and or body on the floor. My guess. My opinion. My read. Sorry.

I disagree. Dad could have said he did not know anything. But. Sonny was making SO much money, why risk everything after a career of doing the right thing? He had trouble dealing with the money he had. Another million or so? Two? Three? Why risk it? He gave Junior his cut and he was the golden boy. Why risk it? More likely the accusation was all envy. Who else was earning like this? The Lufthansa heist? Peanuts. A truck heist compared with what he made every week. And when did sonny EVER mess up about money? Dad could have said that. Easy. With no real risk. Because it was all true.

How can Michael still respect his father ? His father said at that meeting, maybe Michael did steal. I don't know. Knowing Michael, why didn't his father stick up for him ? Second, when there was a hit out on Michael , his father agreed with it. We know that his father as mentioned in the video, seemed to care for his mob family than his own family. His father almost got Michael killed twice. It makes no sense that Michael could still love him. People that say, well it's still his father, that's nonsense logic ! Michael seems like a decent guy. So people would say no matter what his father did to him, including almost getting him killed, he should still love him. Well his father stops being a loving father and worthy of his son's respect, when he almost gets Michael killed. How does that show his father still loves him and is worthy of love ?

I got to meet Michael Franzese a few weeks ago, on August 21, 2021, at a private speaking engagement in which he was the guest speaker. The event was set up by the insurance broker for the company I work with. In total, there were approximately 30 people on hand to listen to Mr. Franzese speak and tell incredible stories of his life. I highly recommend checking out Franzese if he is in your area speaking. Not only was he very entertaining and interesting, but he gave loads of information about the life of a “made man”, answered many questions about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, his opinion about the death of Jimmy Hoffa, dealings with John Gotti, various opinions of people and how he felt about certain instances and the way they were handled. Without a doubt, Franzese is a very interesting person. His knowledge and insight about “the life” was very informative, interesting, a bit shocking in some areas, as well as frightening. Best of all, due to the small and intimate crowd, Franzese answered many questions during and after the speaking engagement. The personal stories he told were nuts. He spoke of certain people that are currently pretending they were hitmen for the mafia, his plans for the future, and he even briefly discussed his sit down with Sammy “The Bull” Gravano.

When he said i dont mean any disrespect with this question i actually thought the guy on the left of Michael was going to go for the jugular... ie the contradictory premise of "the oath"... you lived by it when friends had to be killed but not so much when it comes to saving your own life. Which i totally get... but maybe a little more honesty in this conversation would boost the integrity of the content. Which is still great, btw

The truth is even more sad: Even IF Sonny was framed...well, he came out on parole after a few years. But he violated his parole again and again with his mafia contacts. If he had choosen a normal life after this prison years, he could have saved his family. I understand why Michaels Brother informed on his father. This guy was a selfish monster and never accepted responsibility. There has to be some punishment for him and the brother did it.

How can he say he still had good friends in that life and at the same time say his friends would have killed him if the boss who is not a friend gives them the order to kill him? No friend, no true friend would do that...that life is in every aspect is duplicitous and deceitful. No honour No friends and no nobility in any form. Fathers betraying sons, sons betraying brothers, husbands betraying wives etc etc and then these people actually say they miss that life? Even the likes of Henry Hill who betrayed all, said in old age he misses that life. I couldn't think of anything worse. No amount of money, women, riches or status is worth you forfeiting your soul....

Truth be told! Michael, I don't really think your pop's betrayed you or push you under the bus. I come to the realization that he was in the dark with your operation and had little "knowledge" about the everyday operations and didn't "volunteer" any information and it may seem like he didn't "help" you in any way. The reality was if he "volunteered" any information, true or false, it could have "tripped you up" under questioning. So take the idea that he "betrayed" or "push you under the bus" out of your head. If he had any intentions of doing so, you could have just been dead from jump. YOUR POP'S LOVED YOU MUCH!
