----------------
In this clip, Michael Franzese listed off a few of the mobster films that he felt were either inaccurate or really captured the life in a real way. He pointed to Goodfellas as one such film as well as the HBO film Gotti which he believes is the best overall. Michael Franzese spoke about the backlash he has received from being open about his time in the mafia and offered his opinion on Tekashi 6ix9ine's case and the role of snitching in criminal activity.

He's TALKING?....OUT HERE.. With NO witness protection program?... What does that tell you?... Tells me that lurking beneath his down-to-earth-normal-bloke persona is a slimy greasy egomaniac focused on nothing but self-preservation, fame, and attention ?... We humans, we're so easy to condition ... We trust people on their looks, NOT on their words... if Michael was a little bald fat bloke with a jowly face, we'd be calling him a dirty Rat

This guy is so authentic and genuine, I've watched so many different interviews with him because I love his stories and insight, and he gets asked the same questions over and over and always gives them the same exact response without leaving out any detail so that whoever is watching and hasn't seen the other interviews gets the exact same level of understanding every time. Great speaker, makes sense seeing as that's what he does for a living now.

The striking thing that gets me about these individuals is how articulate the are, obviously intelligent and could’ve been whatever they wanted to be but chose a life we all were warned about. The average kid coming from a good household is raised and disciplined to have “filters” against that which that harms you in the long run. Crime doesn’t pay and never will and the peripheral damage that happens is never exposed or talked about. But it’s there both in victim and immediate families. If you don’t see that then I pity not you as much as those that are touched by the life that harms.

FosterMinotaur2 except the writers of the Sopranos were inspired by Frank Costello, a real mob boss, who seen a psychiatrist. Also, in the sopranos, Tony tried keeping it a secret because he knew he would be wacked had anyone found out. When the mob found out, a hit was placed on him and his psychiatrist had to go into hiding. Tony then had to kill off the entire opposing crew and take power with his loyalists.

@americanzombie1802

John Lydon yeah, back in the old days. But the Sopranos is based on a time of transition in the mob. The softening almost hipster era. Which is why Tony nearly got clipped, but was able to barely survive at least for a time. And In this interview he’s trying to say the sopranos isn’t realistic because of the psychiatrist angle. I wonder if he ever actually seen the show.. I mean today the mob hardly kills anyone anymore. Look at Franzese , he’s still alive and breathing, but had he tried this in the 1970’s for example, he too would’ve ended up in the back of the trunk.

My dad, who was a respectable, retired school teacher, once told me: "If you ever want to kill someone, do it alone and don't tell anyone." Said that to me out of the blue, almost as if it was words of wisdom I might need. Odd.

Maybe he needed to get that one off his chest. No disrespect. Very interesting though, I agree. My family too has a VERY interesting history nobody ever believes. When I think about it..it hardly seems like any of it ever happened, but reality will do that sometimes O_o
