You have a great point! He is obviously smart if he wanted to be a doctor and he was extremely successful in the mob life, he could have done anything and if his father really was set up like he says, then yeah absolutely he should have went to law school.

Sometimes when he tells this story I can’t help feeling his dad was kind of selfish to put him forward to be made. Even though I know Michael probably wouldn’t change any of it even if he could. But still. I don’t see how Michael had to join up. He could have helped without joining. If it wasn’t for for Joe Colombo and his Italian League Michael may never have joined.

@@kimbradshaw8589 How is that relevant to my point? Not one bit of your comment is relevant to what we are discussing. The guys doing fifty years basically for being in the mob so he knows it’s not a good life but he gets his son who has never even been a criminal to join the mob knowing he could be killed or spend the rest of his life in prison all just to try and help get Sonny out. If you don’t think that comes across as selfish you must be a real jerk. And you are aware that Michael himself admits Sonny led him down the wrong path.
