I'm a teenager in Canada but originally from India. Over here kids laugh at people who speak in an Indian accent because it seems different and harder on the tone than the Canadian accent. Holdings accent would have been mocked if he wasn't talking about this issue. But we as a cricketing community know his importance to the game, his contribution to the game, and the respect he commands as Whispering Death.

The conquered see it as hell! And please don’t come with good happened. ...so someone rapes your wife and kids, murders your friends and neighbours and sells them off. One side sounding off without being challenged? You should read the Yale study he referenced, the black teachers were watching the black kids more and the spread was hardly the constant monitoring he claimed. There were also noted in the limitations section highlighting any movement the child actors made outside of the exercise could have affected the teachers looking at them. These are dangerous times and all people need to be careful what they're saying, is a study that's 4 years old an accurate reflection of today?
@SuperKimjong
@SuperKimjong 3 жыл бұрын
@@mattpears1402 - so the racial bias is now ok because the black teachers also exhibited those traits? That's just clearer evidence that it's systemic and learned behavior. 42% of the teachers said the black boy needed attention. You think Michael Holding is saying anything controversial in his statements? You really think much has changed in 4 years? Ferguson happened in 2014. The exact same thing is happening right now. Doesn't appear like much change. Any way, what is there to challenge. What is the 'other side' to the debate. That black lives don't matter?
@adamadams7314
@adamadams7314 3 жыл бұрын
SuperKimjong For a start, racial bias is not systemic. Racism is as old as different races interacting. Racism has been prevalent throughout in different societies and civilisations for 1000s of years. My problem with the Black Lives Matter movement is that nobody makes clear what they’re protesting and if you go on the BLM website, you can see the intentions behind what it’s become. But as the website is the only thing suggesting any outcomes wanted, I’m forced to assume that is what is wanted. The website is just Marxist propaganda, which is very dangerous.

shailesh hegde Agreed India has a complicated history and a messier present, but how convenient is it for us to sweep institutionalised discrimination in our own society. And what about our own attitudes to Africa and black people in general? Bringing up BJP and Hindutva in this context does suggest an axe to grind. However these are people that are riding the wave of religious bigotry with their incessant dog whistling as well as propagating an orthodox view of Hinduism that is firmly grounded in (what looks like) an upper caste worldview. It’s much easier to critique other peoples.

@@yvnkishore I agree with you. We need to speak up about all the discrimination taking part in our society. Unfortunately every party in our country comes to power by riding on the wave of bigoted sections of society. This makes it harder to fix these problems. It's also harder to fix since it is so ingrained in the society

Mark F maybe if you live a life where your existence is ‘tolerated’ you will know what everyone is talking about.. when you tolerate someone you’re not welcoming them you’re putting up with them. LPeople who fought with Britain during the wars but no one knows because they are not acknowledged openly On the contrary The colonisers,were welcome as trading partners in Africa but instead massacred populations around the world, wrote history that makes people look less. Divided people and lumped together people groups who didn’t speak the same language or have the same culture into countries of today guaranteed to create wars. Removed progressive governments, dictate the price of materials… [fair trade exists because trading is unfair. ] Farmers that grow cocoa for example live in extreme poverty in a multi billion pound industry, it is structured that way. The history you learned makes it ok for you to say people are tolerated and see it as a good thing !
