I'm one of the lucky ones to own every MJ figures produced by hot toys and honestly this is still te one I admire most. I can't take my eyes off of it. it was his most iconic on-stage suit and his most famous performance. Every time the band started playing the first notes the crowd would go nuts.

damn right there's something about this mj its his most iconic stage look everybody knows Michael for his electrifying performances in this outfit is when he really moves like no one else the magical sparkling diamond gloves and socks glittering jacket and that fedora hat that he tilts over his eyes when he is ready to perform its his best look on stage happy i bought it when it was first released still have it in the box mint and its my favorite collectible seeing how hard it is for people to get this now makes me feel even better hahahahaha go look for it and you find it buy it straight away for the king its worth every dollar, pound and everything else inbetween! Hot toys definitely nailed the fuck out of it!

I had no idea it would be such a limited run back then and of course no one expected MJ to pass away! Definitely a gem of a figure that I hope to someday still own! Thanks for sharing! Drool....!

Dope intro as always! Such an early HT piece but it demands respect nonetheless! Hope you guys got a good deal on this bad boy. It goes for really high numbers on the bay! Hey what's up Jay & Wendy, you already know how i feel about the '83 MJ Billie Jean figure getting made, i think we all need that. If Hot Toys never does this version of MJ, it would be an absolute crime, and a slap in the face of us collectors/fans. Afterall, there's no way you can have a 'Thriiler' & 'Beat It' figure in existence and not have a 'Billie Jean' one of course.

Hi Wendy and Jay, good to see this review of MJ by you again. It's good you got this, this baby is so expensive now. We talked about this before, now Hot Toys needs to do the 1983 video version of Billie Jean with an LED sidewalk and streetlights, make it a DX if you must. Thriller is the most famous video, but Billie Jean may be the most important video, since it was the first video ever by a black artist to be played on MTV. Too much historical importance to not be done by Hot Toys.

Right, i hear you loud and clear my friend. When you said you we're going to email Hot Toys from a different e-mail that gave me a great idea. I have two other alternate emails i don't use that much and i contacted Hot Toys from both and they responded both times about doing an MJ Billie Jean figure. I'll tell you more when i PM you. It's a pic up of MJ in the 'Billie Jean' video on Facebook now, so anyone else who's interested in seeing this figure made should click the like botton and comment.

I echo that, i have been asking for Hot Toys to do the '83 original video version for a while. They just have to do that figure with the black leather suit and pink shirt, no doubt about it. We just have to all continue going on Facebook and emailing them asking for this figure to made.

With Smooth Criminal i assume is coming sometime soon and 1983 "Billie Jean" like we've both mentioned, i would also love to see a "Rock With You","Motown 25","Remeber The Time","Jam","The Way You Make Me Feel","You Rock My World" & "30th Anniversay Edition" in the white outfit with the gold metal on his shins like the TV special, that would be sick. And how bout an Oldie to goodie "1970" J5 era MJ.

Well as far as michael and Hot Toys goes, My favorite is definately the History tour version, because he was given to us by a very special friend, and also the glove just jumps out at me when looking at him, I do love the Thriller set as well since it is will always be the greatest music video of all time IMO. We will always keep it honest with our viewers, even if it means getting bashed once in a while. That always seems to happen with our predator reviews LOL. Thanx and peace, Jay and Wendy

Hey i am the first this time. As always great review.!!!! The figure looks good but the face could look better. It still is difficult to sculpt and paint the face that looks 100% to the original. Now i am waiting for the Jack Sparrow to arrive today. Man,i am excited about it.

@bladerunner1b That would make a good DX figure or at least an M Icon. I thought the "Beat It" figure was the best sculpt and paint so far. This one is good for the time period, but not great, but undeniably Michael. I saw the repaints they do look more like him. I would be scared to alter my heads to try to improve them though. -Wendy

@HotChixCoolToyReview Yeah, eventhough like you i feel the 1983 "Billie Jean" video version is overdue, in a way i'm a little glad it has'nt been done yet. Imagine when Hot Toys get's to this figure how good it will look now, as oppsed to if it we're done 3 years ago. The headsculpt and detail will look far superior to what it would have looked like in 2009 in my opinion. With Smooth criminal due out sometime, maybe we'll see the REAL Billie Jean figure within a year or 2.

This is well over-rated. It does not even resemble MJ. There are now better custom versions, which could be made for less than £100. The truetype body, outfits and better head sculpt are all readily available on ebay. I will be getting these when I visit HK over Xmas. If any of you from the UK want me to help you get them, let me know. I'll be happy to oblige, as they won't be too heavy to carry. I just need a rough idea of how many people would be interested in these customs.
