Let's just say that during the day he was taking pills that "cheered him up" and at night he needed medication to sleep. Also few realize that almost everyone with Lupus has a CLUSTER of autoimmune issues like Sjogrens fibromyalgia thyroid disorders, myositis, reynaud, muticonnective tissue disorder, vitiligo, scleroderma, CREST, etc.... usually a cluster and we suffer greatly from pain insomnia headaches... slurred speech swelling slower thought process forgetfulness poor articulation etc when tired or having flare. +Applehead1912 Applehead1912 30th anniversary. this is from the 7th of september, he did another one on the 10th. He was heavily medicated here and woke up like right before he had to go to the event almost missing it. He performed despite his condition but it wasn't exactly great as per reports, not all of the shows hiccups were his fault as the production and direction were not great. His show on the 10th was a lot better and most of the footage you see from the show is from that date. The special that aired on TV was a mixture of both dates. MJ was suffering a really bad lupus outbreak which was why they edited his face to hide the redness and swelling.

His long-time friend, Frank Cascio who knew him since Frank was 5, was the one who organized this show. Frank was shocked when he went to pick MJ up at his house for the show. MJ was knocked out still in bed. Frank had to give him remedies to wake him up I believe MJ was nervous to face his fans for that show since he's not performed for years after the accusations and also nervous about whether he could perform his best given his condition I pity him and my heart bleeds for this man. He did not deserve his sufferings. He was a good man and the media, the parents of the children who accused him, the people who wanted to profit off of him, his family, exclusive of his mother, was to blame for his death.

Emotional pain is a serious thing, and I would challenge anyone of not having a crisis after you lived in the spotlight your entire life. Mike was a visionary, wanted to do sooo many different things in the entertainment industry. Invincible should have been his last album, then he wanted to turn to movies and directing. Now imagine all those pieces of shit blocking your career and labeling you as simply "not important" anymore. He showed up 1 hour late because he was asleep after taking Demerol for his back pain, which Frank Cascio (another close friend, who was the one that found him asleep) says was an excuse to get out of the show because he really didn't want to do it. Regardless, you can't even tell by watching the performance, which was amazing and is one of my personal favorites.

Poor guy had anxiety, depression, probably PTSD (don't blame him, after everythning he went through!), and insomnia because of Lupus. No wonder he was taking drugs - and yeah, kudos for being able to pull it off and give one hell of a performance. Feeling so bad for him, though. Elizabeth is wonderful, I love her.
