The set and concept of the music video "Standing next to you" was inspired by the movie Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann. He released his solo debut album "Golden". The dance in "Standing next to you" is homage to MJ. The album is all in English. JK said he wanted to try different genre of music and wanted to challenge himself. He also did a short mini concert on time square and only gave fans 30 minutes notice where he sang five of his songs from his album. You'll love it for sure. It's amazing! Yes Jungkook is very much inspired by Michael Jackson. Jungkook is the mmain vocalist of BTS. They do alot of different genres. All 7 members are serving their mandatory Military Service for their mother country of South Korea at the moment. 2 of which will return this year. And the rest will return middle of 2025. They have ha huge catalog. Well over 300 songs. They do Rap, EDM, Hip Hop, Ballads. You name it. The group has 3 songs all completely in English. The rest of their catalog consist of Korean mixed with English, and they also have Japanese songs. Jungkooks album Golden is done in all English. They debuted in 2013. So they've been around fir quite sometime. A list of songs ON- Kinetic Manifesto Fire Blood Sweat and Tears Spring Day. Black Swan Dope If you watch their MV always make sure tou have the cc on. The lyrics hold a deep meaning in all of their songs. You will not regret going down the BTS rabbit hole. LOL

This was definitely an homage to MJ who JK loves and admires (he and Jimin did a cover of MJ's Black and White which you can see on KZfaq). As for their songs being poppy, you must have listened to their 3 English songs (Butter, Dynamite, Permission To Dance). These are actually not the type of songs they normally write or sing. These were released during the pandemic as their contribution for the world since so many were getting depressed. Check out their Korean-English songs because they go really deep, raw, and honest (just put captions on). Some songs I would recommend: Mic Drop (Steve Aoki remix), Fake Love, Black Swan, On Kinetic Manifesto (not the On MV), Blood Sweat and Tears. 💜

Oh lawd, if you think BTS is bubble-gum poppy, you have a LOT of catching up to do, lol :) They started as a hiphop crew and the first two members were underground rappers. The members are so diverse in their talents and expertise that they cover multiple genres. We only hear the pop stuff in the west because it benefits the music industry here to keep them in a safe "boy band" bubble. I think you may have only heard their three all English songs which are very different than their norm. Those were just done during COVID to cheer up ARMY. THERE IS A REMIX OF THIS WITH USHER!!! Oh man, you haven't really heard BTS if you've only heard their bubblegum poppy songs. They're well known for specializing in hip-hop. Check out Born Singer, Baepsae and Outro Tear. If you want jazz blues vibes, check out Rain and House of Cards.

Yes it would be an excellent idea for you to check out more BTS music as well as their solo work. The super poppy/bubble gum pop that you referred to is a tiny bit of their discography. Most of their songs do not fit into those categories.
