This is the Kind of drummer you want in your band. Every single beat he plays is meant to elevate the song, to make Michael voice bright, to add to the feeling and the intention of the song. You can practice 10 hours a day, but you’ll only reach this level when you grow up as a drummer and as a musician. He could have put so many amazing fills in the song, but he has the good sense not to.

Besides the fact that Jonathan is playing with awesome skills / feel / musicality / technique... He is also putting his SOUL, his SPIRIT in there. Every touch is at a higher level, cannot be duplicated just by hitting on a drum. Master indeed sir.

I find it great he's using different brands of cymbals. Shows he goes for the sound rather than sticking to one brand. I see Soultone, Istanbul, Sabian, Zildjian, there might be others I don't see.

Guys like sugarfoot, dont need to endorse anything... he plays what he likes to ear... notice that he's using a mix of High end cymabls and mid end cymbals ( his hats are XSR's )... what ever works for him , works for him... What an amazing performance man. That song is always one of my favorites to listen to, and it’s sweet seeing you play the drums to that song. Can’t wait to see what other songs you’ll play to considering you did that in a studio. Damn, Moffett is a museum, a treasure, pure gold in learning the drums, a living legend my dear folks, see his look, his smile remembering Michael from his friends and bandmates who recorded with him on Michael's tours and Madonna. A world-class drum master, by his smile and facial expression we know that he left a great legacy in pop music. Moffett was one of the great builders of the best music in the 80s, so he has a lot of musical, professional and artistic wisdom to teach and sell. My son started drumming this year. He's got "it". You were on the list of drummers I gave him to study! Your speed during your cymbal shots for alot of Michael's songs threw him for a serious loop! He was like, "How is this possible? How does he hit those shots so fast and settle back into the groove like his cymbals are right next to the snare?!?! He managed to play green day's "basketcase" with full strokes like a champ but still couldn't match your arm speed on the shots on some of Michael's tracks that weren't near as fast! When he realized that you were still that fast after all these years, it really motivated him to push harder! Thank you for all the great music over the years!

Met the man back in 1993/94 when I helped him set up for a clinic at a friend's new drum shop. Extremely nice guy. He was brilliant on the kit back then, and he doesn't seem to have lost a step. Love the tune!
