If I had one super power, I would want the power to make everyone that was evil to Michael Jackson and all the good hearted innocent people and kids teleport to an Earth like planet in an alternate Universe so our world would have *ONLY* good hearted people and all the evil people can live with only other evil because these evil people do not deserve to be in this beautiful world tearing down other innocent people with their evil ways. Once the are teleported, these evil people can really be miserable since there will be no good people to torment with their cruel and evil ways.

To be honest if he felt that, that is one of the most powerless feelings in the world as a parent when you feel you can not help your child especially when you don't know what to do - in a household the main source of power lies behind the Dad so there is so much pressure put on the Dad to be the sole provider and the problem solver and if he didn't have any sources at his finger tips to help whether he can admit it or not he was without power to stop things from happening that were soon out of his control

I feel like a lot of us African/black kids grew up getting our asses whooped. I turned out very respectful and kind because that's how my mom raised me. I avoided a lot of bad things because I knew I'd have my ass handed to me if I did do them. Joe was too much tho. He did push them to greatness no doubt about that but I wish he was more gentle & fatherly with his kids. Especially knowing how sensitive the Jacksons are. Especially Michael.

Joe was such a mysterious character. He did abuse Michael but at the same time it's important to understand where Joe came from too. This is a Black American man who probably had an even tougher dad who had to endure the legacy of segregation and many men from this generation are unable to express love or tenderness to their kids because they were taught neither and discipline is their only form of affection sometimes or interest. In both sides, it's really tragic.

Not only was Gary, IN tough but the Jackson's had to stay grounded being in that LA/Hollywood environment as young entertainers. I went to high school in Hollywood, a private school. It's a crazy environment and honestly, I feel no child should be exposed to what goes on there. Joe needed to be firm, it was necessary.

Good point. It is NOT because a child get whipped by it's father's hands that they will always behave. Each child has a different caracter. Michael's was sensitive but correct, a big sense of justice how justice should be. My parents never lay their hands on me, they told me do as good you can, that is ok for us. i had enough trouble with 3 girls...let alone 7....and yes they got a spanking if they were naughty...but they turned out loving, respectful, never been in trouble,..and i have a brilliant relationship with them...sometimes tough love is needed...because you love them.

Joe did everything right n terms of the music and discipline of his children but the only thing that he should have done along w all that, is that he should have been more of a father.

In my world, a father is a teacher and someone who instills discipline into his child so that he/she can succeed in the world. If you ask me, from what i hear, Joe is one hell of a dad.

That's his right if he wants his call him by his name, they are his kids. I call my father sir, and it doesn't affect how i feel about him, because no matter what i call him he'll always be my father.

I don't think Joe Jackson HATED MJ, of course not. That's his SON. But, I do however, think he may have scared him a little. MJ was a gentle person. He wouldn't hurt anyone. Joe Jackson even said he saw blanket dancing to MJ's music, and said "You dance just like your father." And smiled. He loves Blanket. I too, see MJ in Blanket.

We all loved to hate him. But hearing his side makes it a lot more understandable. Nevertheless, he should have at least shown more love to his kids. I also think that he should have continued managing Michael after they reconciled. That would have kept the snakes and vultures at a distance.

yeah i wish he brought his father back into his life to manage him. he was a rebel in his youth and wanted to do his own thing, not be controlled by his father. but sadly he became surrounded by vultures who didnt care about him. joe was tough on him but he was his father and he knew that his father would do anything to protect him. it breaks my heart that he called for his father for help in his last days and couldnt get help. its just truly sad.

I remember this business manager, would love to hear more of these tapes. People don't realize just how smart Michael was. Michael had so many plans that would have blown us out of the water. His goal was to make the world a better place with wonder and amazing things. I feel sorry he was not able to. It upsets me to hear him say he wanted to achieve all his goals. I thank his business manager for sharing these tapes as we need to hear them.
