Part 8: • Michael Jai White on W...
Part 6: • Michael Jai White Weig...
Part 1: • Michael Jai White on P...
--------
Michael Jai White started out this clip by reacting to a recent video that Mike Tyson posted of his training session for his return to boxing, and Michael said he's not surprised that Tyson still has his speed. He added that he's around the same age as Tyson, and Michael believes that he would "dust" the 25-year-old version of himself, adding that he knows too much now.
When it comes to Tyson's previous fights against Holyfield, Michael believes that there was a lot of psychology that went into the fights because of the love and admiration that Tyson had for Holyfield. He added that he was at their first fight and Michael said he saw Tyson stop trying in the ring after losing the crowd for the first time in his career. To hear more, hit the above clip.

In his book, Mike says he had lost his love for the sport after he won the first title at the age of 20. After that it was just for money and became bored with it, even tho he did extremely well. He beat most guys just based on their own fear. Later on towards the end, he wasn’t training as hard as when he first started, and had tax problems which is why he kept fighting and not to mention his other struggles outside the ring. Nothing more. His love for the sport had been left

You just had some tourneys/competitions when you were younger, doesn't make you any authority you're not a pro fighter that fights for a living like Boxers, MMAs . Massive difference. And no, a 50 year old you as you are now ain't beating a 25 yr old version of you, no matter how many 'tricks' you think you may have.

This man in my opinion is 1000% correct!!! I felt the same thing watching those fights. I remember all the turmoil that surrounded Tyson around that time. His personal life was in chaos and it definitely affected his training and ultimately his fighting. I truly believe a focused Mike Tyson back then was unbeatable. You have to have your house in order, I believe one has to be in balance all around to perform at such a high level especially in such a very competitive sport. Your mental state and physical states must be on point and it is an extra plus if your spirituality is right there too. I repeat, A Mike Tyson on point, in harmony would be unbeatable back then!!! Getting involved with poison like Don King and Robin Givens and many other leeches wore Tyson out. He needed to guard himself from all that and he didn't do the job and it cost him dearly!! A man that always was reaching out for that father figure, you could see his rage was a massive cover for all the hurt he had inside. I believe if Cus Damato had lived a decade more Tyson would never have got involved with all that negativity and he would have been unscathed! Just my personal belief.

He's right, you don't really slow down that much...your recovery is what diminishes. You don't lose significant hands speed until you get in your early 60s but the thing is you get so much smarter and wiser. Your fight wisdom increases exponentially. You know exactly what a younger opponent is gonna do way before they do it...you can second guess all their moves. I know all of this because I'm 54 and blessed to have stayed in fight shape and when I spar with young guys who are in their prime I out think them right out of their game...something I would never have been about to do in my younger years plus I still have significant speed and power and my reflexes haven't diminished at all. The issue is when you do get hit it's more damaging and the recovery is waaaaay longer.
