Michael Jai White addressed a variety of topics in his first VladTV interview of 2024. The actor started off by offering his thoughts on Taraji P. Henson calling out the pay discrepancies that Black actresses face in Hollywood. Michael Jai White empathized with Taraji's stance and revealed his own experiences as a Black actor in show business. He also explained how aspiring and current actors can navigate the landscape before reacting to Katt Williams' viral interview with Shannon Sharpe. On the topic, Michael Jai White responded to Katt referring to Kevin Hart as an 'industry plant.' Later in the interview, he commented on Jonathan Majors' conviction and his remarks about Coretta Scott King. To hear more, check out the full interview above.

Michael was babbling on the Tarhaji subject. He was wrong. He was trying to be pleasing to black people. Vlad is right. It's business. You make the deal upfront. Take it or leave it. You take it. Can't complain you should've gotten more than you got offered when you took the deal. It's not personal. You could've walked away if you didn't like the deal. Everything else Michael said after that was nonsense. We know he's only trying to defend Tarahji because he's tryna keep his black audience. Especially because black people will take what Vlad is saying personal, vs understanding he's being logical

It is interesting to note that Vlad's interviewing style has undergone a significant transformation over the years. In his earlier interviews, he exhibited a more reserved and focused approach, allowing guests to express their thoughts without frequent interruptions. However, in recent times, it appears that his own opinions and desires have taken precedence, resulting in a more self-centered interviewing style. This shift has led to a noticeable tendency to interject his own views into discussions, even when they may not be directly relevant to the topic at hand. While it is understandable that an interviewer may occasionally need to redirect a conversation or ensure that guests stay on track, the frequency with which Vlad interrupts and inserts himself into the discussion can be perceived as disruptive and distracting.

Vlad is right. Y'all taking this personal. If Tarhaji didn't like her deals she could've walked away. Go to the highest bidder on an another film/project. You can't complain at your job that this other person is getting more than you and they still refuse to pay you your dues. Sucks, but if you feel you're not appreciated. Go somewhere where you feel you'll get your due. If you choose not to do that. That's on you. Life's not fair. Birds eat worms. And on goes the circle of life. What's to argue. Fund your own projects and create your own lane.

Speaking as someone who works for himself, and is employed by a company, you'll never get what you truly deserve working for someone else. Everyone knows this. There's no wrong way to live or work, especially if you're making your own choices. So Taraji isn't wrong, but her expectations are. The talent could/should be protected and taken care of better, based on her comments. Vlad isn't wrong either, but his delivery is wrong. Since he loves talking about how he started his own company, and here we are consuming his product. There's always a solution to the problem, but it annoys me how bullshit gets in the way that. Michael Jai always delivers with a great interview.

I really respect both perspectives. However you can hear the wisdom in Michael’s voice and approach. I often see men that are solid marriages or long term relationships demonstrate this type of unique poise and grace bc they are used to showing compassion to their significant others. Vlad is logical and Michael is intuitive. Both are valuable ☯️ If you ever want the best opinion, ask a man or woman that is in a healthy long term relationship.

Vlad will not just sit back and listen bc he’s not one of us. It’s not in him to do that. Now the thing about projects flopping: you paid me that low amount just in case the project flops so you won’t lose much, so no I will not give you money back simply because you paid me the lowest amount and I put my time energy giving you my best and it’s very visible. That’s on you the producer/writer to make it happen. Now Jai is right if the film does way more, the actor should get more money. If they knew for sure the project was going to do over 6million only paying 150k to do it I guarantee they would offer her more from jump. With that being said that needs to be in the worker’s contract so that’s on her bc money changes everything. Ppl get stupid about it

I get what Angela was saying when she says Jamie Lee Curtis doesn't have to do what Michael is suggesting, but she is white, and the people she is dealing with are white. They own the studio. As Black people, we have always had to deal with this by making our own. Right or wrong, that's what Michael and Vlad did because they understand business. I understand that Vlad is also white, but he created his own lane. I would also remind Vlad that Disney is not only a very public company but also has a certain image that they put out. Disney fired James Gunn because 12 year old tweets came out. They also didn't want to hire Robert Downey JR. Jon Favreau fought to get Downey. I don't believe Disney wanted to release Johnathan Majors because the first interview he does is with ABC. Disney owns ABC. The problem now is he has old girlfriends coming forward and making accusations. I believe the plan was to hold off on Kang til things settle down and then bring him back as they did Gunn. They may or may not go that route depending on how the public responds to the girlfriends. People forget both Hawkeye and Thanos actors have also had domestic abuse cases but the DA didn't go after them as this one did with Majors. Also think to big a deal is being made about the Coretta Scott King comment. The man knows where he wants to go and that his woman's actions also reflect on him. He spoke of a plan and she was aware of how he felt.
