Michael Jai White discussed the career of the late Kimbo Slice and why he believes he didn't have a successful run in the UFC. White compared professional fighting to street fighting, stating there's a significant difference in skill and technique. He explained that many street fighters aren't knowledgeable in the fundamentals, leading to exploitable mistakes in the ring. White also commented on the emotional aspect of fighting, drawing from Slice's personal experience. He mentioned that Slice used to create artificial animosity to fight his opponents, which he perceives as a big mistake because it's best not to let emotions rule in fights. True but according to pretty much everyone that trained grappling with him - Kimbo just did not learn the basics .. even if he were 5-6 years younger he wasn’t going to survive on the ground.. what’s worse is his striking was never a factor in the octagon - he was too scared of the takedown and of gassing out

Big Kimbo Slice could throw down. Dude was a fighting beast. I remember back in 2007 I was gearing up to travel down to Florida to scrap Kimbo for the ten thousand but changed my mind. I was 256 pounds at that time and was sparring heavy at Dale Grable Boxing Academy

I’ve only been tackled in a street fight once. If a wrestler is in a street fight with an unskilled fighter, yes the wrestler will dominate. But I kick box. We throw heavy knees and uppercuts. Elbows at the back of the head… 12 to 6 angle. Hammer fists. No rules in a street fight… I’ve got more effective weapons

Kimbo apparently ran Diuretics among other substances for that Dada 5000 fight. Dada had to be hospitalized as well. Kimbo was a great dude from what hear, just one dimensional as a fighter. Grappling in all disciples rules the cage, not just wrestling.
