Roy can be anything he wants! In any setting no matter what! Pound-4-pound, he's one of the five greatest boxers who ever lived including any weight class! I still vividly remember where I (16 years old) was watching him during the '88 Olympics and the brute power coupled with his punch speed (a sight to behold) was the best I'd seen (only Tyson during his dominance equalled it)! When he lost that gold medal match complete disbelief doesn't even begin to cover! If there we're an event which signaled or defined the word HOSED, it'd be Roy Jones losing his '88 gold medal decision! It's by far the #1 travesty in the history of the Summer Olympics, my personal opinion! What separates it from the '72 basketball team, for me, was that it wasn't decided due to a clock malfunction! The referees clearly saw the entire fight and blindly decided a winner based on who they wanted to win and not who actually won!
@justsayin6693 жыл бұрын
@@bradlewis6514 That's why you shouldn't invest too much emotionally into sports that rely on judges to make a final decision without being held accountable for each individual call. @@ednoroirika Nah he different. Like the comment said. Watching him before he became the legend he is you could always see he was different. Even when he had bad games you could still tell he was the best thing in the floor. Although I am tired of this GOAT debate but when I'm in one I always say it really has nothing to do with stats, or rings or any of that. Mike was just different and nobody in their right mind that actually watched him play would ever say they have seen anybody better.

This was filmed a month before Roy got KO'd by Tarver,he'd won a heavyweight belt and was considered by many the greatest P4P boxer ever, a rare moment when an athlete in the same room was held in almost as high esteem as MJ .

@@shangtsung1362 And I remember Tarver losing the exact same way to B-Hop. He understood (the hard way) how hard it is to fluctuate weight & different classes, after making that Rocky Movie. I still think that Roy was the better boxer, but after those back to back knockouts he suffered, he never came back the same...

@@May5871 Yeah I agree with you 100 percent. Not a great idea to do a yo-yo on the scales particularly once you are an older fighter.
