This is MJ’s most impressive ring. Unlike 96 & 97 where everyone else stood no chance against them, the 98 bulls were a shell of that. Scottie was rarely healthy, Dennis was not productive for big chunks of the year, the other role players all visibly declined, MJ himself wasn’t getting younger, and the massive internal turmoil within the organization between Krause, Phil, and the players. Yet, they won because they still had Michael Jordan on their team who carried and willed the bulls to this title.

@M Greatest sport? Sport cant be considered great if its popular. For example if saying stupid things (such as your comment) was the most watched sport that doesn't make it "by far the greatest". I have nothing against football but hear me out. It's too boring (imo, many others agree) , basketball, handball are boths more dynamic thus being more interesting to watch. And if we don't look at the spectator side of it football isnt much complex (example: wrestler, gimnasticks guy, karate dude can play football 1000 times better than footballers can do their sports). Physique wise footballers have strong legs and running endurance, not all round as many other sports. Soo...why is football "by far the greatest sport"? Bcs you are biased? Bcs its tHe mOsT pOpULaR? Neither is a valid reason.

Jordan was so clutch at the end, he single handedly finished the game. Drew a foul to stop the clock then sank both free throws, quick 4 second score to put the Bulls down by 1, forced a takeaway, then let the clock run and sank the final bucket to go up by 1 with 5 seconds left. At that moment, even though his acrobatic basketball skills had waned, MJ beat his opponents with his immense basketball IQ and bag of tricks. He knew all the tricks that any basketball player could know.

8:30 Phil Jackson absolutely called everything that happened in this 36-second sequence in an interview -- he told Mike that he needed to follow-through on his shot, that they needed a quick two, but he knew once Michael scored that on the other side Hornacek was going to set the back screen to get Malone on the block for Stockton to dump it into the post. Michael is gassed but he recognized it, stripped it, and in his shot he followed through. Amazing example of how even the greatest player of all time was coachable all the way to his last meaningful possession.

The best thing about Jordan is that he NEVER gives up. Most people, there at the end when Malone had the ball would have just ran down the court to get ready to defend. But not Jordan. He is simply on another level, beyond even the best then and now. And on the winning shot, he really didn't push Russell. His hand was on Russell, yes, but when Jordan stopped on a dime to make the shot, Russell got his ankles broken basically, and caused the illusion that he was pushed. I watched it live, and it seems just like yesterday. Since Jordan left, I really haven't watched much basketball, though I did watch Lebron through the playoffs this year. He is very good, in the ball park of Jordan talent-wise, but here's the difference: Lebron makes mistakes that Jordan never did, such as errant passes, passing when he should continue a drive to the hoop, complaining to a ref while the other team is taking the ball back across the court.

Phil Jackson talked about this in an interview before. He mentioned how Michael’s jumpshot hadn’t been falling this game, he was letting his hand go early and not following through. So when Bulls called the timeout at 41 seconds, he told michael as soon as you get the ball attack the basket immediately, don’t settle for a shot, then after you score (which I love how Phil was so confident predicting MJ would score), he told Michael that on defense Jazz are gonna run the cross baseline pick to Malone. Phil told MJ to come around and try to see if he can get a strip on the ball. Same play Michael goes down and scores, on a jumpshot I might add, which he makes sure to follow through lol. Crazy how in unison Phil and Mike were, Phil with the awareness and advice for MJ, and of course Michael went out and executed to perfection. Shows how much they both trusted each other.

AIN'T NOBODY MORE CLUTCH THAN MICHAEL JORDAN: NBA Finals. Last 2 minutes.... Utah winning by 4 points, Jordan attack the paint TWICE. To stop the bleeding, and tie the game with 4 Free throws. Utah make a 3 . Now Utah winning by 3 with 41 seconds left. Jordan attack the basket ONCE AGAIN ! and now Chicago is only trailing by 1 . Utah possession. Jordan with the steal, Jordan attack the basket again, and Jordan win the game ., WHICH MEANS.....in the last 2 Minutes of the game . UTAH scored 7 points. And Jordan scored 8 by himself. THE GOAT !!!!!!
