@@adammcg7115 That's quite a bit hyperbolic. Jordan was a 49.7% career shooter as a Guard, and that includes his 2 seasons shooting well under 50% as a Wizard. KD is a 49.6% career shooter as a Forward. Now you can say that the reason for this is because KD shoots more 3s, and that would be true. But the point remains that your "worse efficiency" argument is undercut by the fact that they have equal career FG%, so far. As KD ages that will likely come down.

This can be countered too because back in the day there was a rule called “illegal defense” where the opposing center could only be on the side of the paint where the other center was. So basically anyone in that era had to beat their first man on a iso then they would have a free lane to the basket. Then from there the center has to gamble on trying to block the driver or read it to see if they were going to dump it to the center on the other side of the paint. Nonetheless I still think jordan’s the greatest scorer ever.

I've always thought that when it comes to scoring, KD is the greatest all-around scorer of all time. This dude is a 6'11 guard. When it comes to PURE scoring, he has 0 weaknesses. He can catch and shoot threes, pull-up threes, pull-up 2, post-up fade going either way, excellent FT shooter. Can finish with the left and right, and back in his OKC days was postering the other teams centres on a nightly basis. Jordan may have scored more, but he also took way more shots per game. Just to put into perspective, KD averaged 28.1ppg in 2012. He was 2nd in ppg that year, but #1 in total points scored. Funny thing is, he only took 17.7 shots per game, which wasn't even the most on his OWN TEAM (westbrick shooting 18.7 attempts per game). KD is so pure he can be the #2 option and still have the most points in the league.

I think the term ‘greatest’ & ‘best’ needs some more clarification. Kobe (imo) edges Jordan out as the greatest scorer b/c his offensive skillset was more complete and the most complete the game has ever seen. MJ (especially when he was Air) was and the most electrifying scorer to ever lace a pair. But KD is the best scorer due to the combination of his offensive skillset and athletic ability. You can’t teach what KD is naturally was born with. Special shoutouts to Bird, Melo, Harden, Wilt, Cap, West, Gervin, Pistol & Bron ya heard.

How can Kobe be the greatest scorer when he is beneath Jordan in literally every metric when it comes to scoring (regular and postseason)? Jordan's massive hands alone which allowed him to do things with the ball that neither KD or Kobe could dream of doing, is part of what seperates him from everybody else! Then you add to that his speed, strength and leaping ability and it's a wrap!

However, even these two new factors you just added seem hard to measure and, I'd say, don't help Kobe in the Jordan comparison. The thing is how do you measure "primary option"? Like, how do you determine that Durant was GSW's and OKC's #1 scoring option ahead of Curry and Westbrook? Or during the 2001 and 2002 seasons, who of Kobe and Shaq was the #1 scoring option? We all know MJ was the primary option during his entire Bulls career, but was it the case for Kobe? And as far carrying a team thanks to scoring talents MJ clearly surpasses him in that regard.

Way more scoring titles, more points per game (regular season, playoffs and finals) and 5 series with 40 ppg while kd has none. Kd should be better because of his height and length, but looking at the numbers, regular season, playoffs or finals, jordan is the better scorer.

I have been a die hard KD fan for years, and I am considering him being the best scorer in the entire decade (after prime Kobe). But man, when compared to MJ in terms of greater scorer, it's not evendebatable -- 30ppg regular-season, 33ppg post-season, 10 scoring titles, it's just out of this universe.

It’s kindve hard to compare the 3 point shot between the 90s and mid to late ‘10s and ‘20s because in the 90s teams were attempting less threes per game than what Steph attempts by himself per game. Two completely different games. Back in the 90s if the bulls were playing the knicks, the score would be like 83-78. In today’s NBA u will almost rarely, never see a game with such low scoring because of the volume of 3 pointers being shot.
