David Robinson was a beast!!! That dude was 7 feet, and was athletic as hell for a tall dude. So underrated, but Robinson could ball. He had it all, offense, and defense. The dude was a stud!!! Never got full recognition because he played for a small-market city like San Antonio.
@drlight66772 жыл бұрын
Gonna disagree. David Robinson was always viewed as one of the best players in the league during the 90's. '92 Dream Team, '95 League MVP, Hall of Famer. Only thing about Robinson is that during his prime he had to compete with Hakeem and Shaq as to who was the best center in the league, and then later in his career he was kinda overshadowed by Tim Duncan. But the guy is a Top 10 all-time center.
@acornsucks21112 жыл бұрын
No trips to the finals until Duncan came along, that was his biggest problem, not the small market.
@kylecraig67892 жыл бұрын
Idk I think both commenters are wrong. It wasn't the small market and it wasn't him being overshadowed by Hakeem and Shaq. It was because he was too quiet, polite and humble. He was just not marketable. Not taking away from his greatness, but had he been more of an aggressive beast on the court he could have been mentioned among the the best ever.
@kylecraig67892 жыл бұрын

D.R was a great athlete with a body like an ancient Greek statue, also one of the best centers ever and a nice and gentle person. M.J is just the best basketball player ever played the game, and only that! Personally i prefer D.R for his ethos ( By the way ethos is a Greek word "Ηθος" ). I'm Greek you see!
the italians are also related with greeks ??? especially the sicilians and napolitanos ???

@Tom Wilson My man most of Ancient Greeks or even better Ellines had dark hair and dark eyes, even though blonde hair is often idolized and associated with Greek gods. Many Ancient Greeks described themselves as having a skin tone in the middle between pale and dark. The average height of a man in Greece during the Classical Period (c. 510 - c. 323 BC) was about 5. 7. I'm 6 with brown hair and eyes and my skin is dark. Did I say something wrong?
Basketball back then was a man's game,, u can feel the intensity even its a low scoring ball game,,and most of all they have no other business in the court just to played basketball and win the game,,,

I'm not sure which was more stunning: how openly the referees cheated for Jordan, or the fact that David Robinson was obviously a chiseled stone sculpture that was somehow brought to life through a series of magic spells.
@BingCherry117 жыл бұрын
I remember during a FINALS Game vs Portland Michael Jordan advanced up the court while holding firmly Clyde Drexler's wrist!!!! And the refs refused to make the call!!!!! That was so wrong!!!!!
@alexprospero58167 жыл бұрын
It was how it was back then, fewer calls, did you guys see how the Pistons treated Michael? My God every single one of them would have had multiple suspensions these days. League has gone soft.
@TheRiggedBA7 жыл бұрын
+ BingCherry11 Yeah, Jordan openly admits that he used to be able to get away with dragging Drexler by the wrist and even says that it was his favorite technique against Clyde. Life is nice when you're allowed to play by your own set of rules while your opponents aren't.

MJ versus The Admiral two of the greatest basketball players call time David Robinson and Michael Jordan
@AGTsakumis4 жыл бұрын
"MJ has done it again..." Ever wonder how many times an announcer uttered those words? Michael Jordan was, simply put, the most significant athlete in any sport other than Muhammad Ali. Jordan was transformational on so many levels. He changed the way the game is viewed and played. LeBron James is a great player but isn't good enough to ever be mentioned in the same breath. No one is.

@@darenmccormick2115 He can dislike it all he wants. If he'd stayed discipline he'd have eclipsed Jordan in his transformational effect. Same goes for Mike Tyson. But neither one of them did. The one athlete, of course, who remains the greatest athlete ever--Bo Jackson--is in a super human class by himself. Alas, his tenure wasn't anywhere long enough. But he still deserves to be in both halls of fame.

In a picture perfect world, it would be nice to see Robinson, Duncan, Leonard, Ginobili and Parker all in their prime playing together. I'd say that team would take down MJ and the Bulls in their prime at least one year in the Finals. Parker>Harper, GinobiliRodman, Robinson>Longley The obvious matchups would be MJ vs Kawhi, Rodman vs Duncan/Robinson, Pippen defending Manu (people are obviously going to forget how clutch Manu was in his prime, Pippen would have to lock him down when he gets hot). It be a fun series to watch.

lots of teams could take down prime Bulls: 86 Celtics, 87 Lakers, 72 Lakers, 67 Philadelphia, 83 Philadelphia, 71 Bucks ... basically any team with a DOMINANT center and a supporting cast. 1999 Spurs, ... too bad MJ "retired" as we'd have seen Bulls vs Spurs in 1999 instead of NY. Then again, would the Bulls have gotten past NY with Sprewell, Camby, Johnson, Ewing? Ewing spent that lockout year NOT working out, but in negotiations. *sigh*
