Absolutely right..! This was an amazing match. I don't know about the towel rules in boxing, but I think the ref was correct to rule it out cause both boxers were trading punches. What a great match!!

Graham Earl - the toughest fighter I've ever seen. That's his legacy. A great, great fight, underrated for the amount of skill on show too, I think. Earl's eyes looked permanently glazed, but he kept producing. I hope he's not suffering the ill effects now.

My cousin met him in Northern Ireland, apparently he could see the effects but i agree full credit to a brave pugilist, Joe Frazier esque, no surrender.

This is my favourite and one of the best fights I've ever seen! I was lucky enough to meet Graham earl in Luton .. He's a real fighter!

Outstanding upload. Here in the States we don't get to see a lot of fights out of the UK, so this was a real pleasure. Actually felt Graham Earl had edged the 5th round but can understand his corner stopping the bout. He had taken an awful amount of heavy punches in the first 4 rounds and their first priority is to the safety of their fighter. Nevertheless, this was a really good match and tremendous respect to both Katsidis and Earl.

Absolutely brilliant refereeing. Unlike within the US, In the UK the towel is only an indication to the referee, to indicate the corners intentions or wishes to end the fight and save their fighter, but ref can ignore that gesture and throw the towel back out and allow the bout to continue as we all can see. That's why boxing was invented in England, where common sense used to prevail, shame there only a few of us left with that awesome power.

OK.. I haven't seen this fight, since it was shown live on TV... This fight, is one of the best fights I have ever seen... both men, are full of heart, and fight like warriors... Earl, went on to fight Amir Khan, and again, showed a lot of heart, but lost... this is a great fight...

Katsidis's first 'knockdown' shouldn't have been considered a knock down as his glove never touched the canvas.

Kicking away the Earl's trainers towel,Mickey Vann offered us a wonderful fight ,the best of 2007,but a referee should always respect the corner's decision and not wanting to become a superstar.

@@Aaron613V He dropped him almost immediately after. The corner doesn't have the right to stop the fight when the fighter is still completely fine and fighting. Ref did an absolutely brilliant job.

@@thebiglebrowski3695 at the time it seemed like the right decision, in hindsight maybe not given that Earl's next two fights were both first round defeats. This fight left Earl badly damaged.

Everybody seems to have missed the fact that Mickey Vann should have never never gave Katsidis that standing count. If he didn’t give Katsidis (which allowed him to recover) I think Earl would have stopped him thus Earl would have won the fight.
