@@jamesevans3492 I forgot Jeff Porcoro played on this. But he & the rest of Toto played on so many songs from then we all knew & loved it is impossible to keep track. Such tremendous talent. Definitely one of the many reasons this song is so great. Thanks for the reminder. 😎 I truly understand & sympathize w/ you Sassy Karen. Every day I feel like a kid in an adult’s body trying to play grown up. Seemed so fun when I really was a kid, but now w/ all these responsibilities & people depending on me….all I want to do is run as fast as I can back to the time & people who knew what they were doing, my grandparents & parents. Songs like this are as close as I’m going to get. But I’m eternally grateful for them…and knowing there are so many others out there feeling the same way. This music is my happy place & energy source. ♥️

I see a lot of comments about WarrenG sampling this song and what a genius Michael McDonald is. MM is a genius and WarrenG and crew were very smart to sample the music. What I am not seeing is props to the studio musicians who actually made the music. WarrenG sampled the music, not the lyrics- the selling point was the jam. The studio musicians were, primarily, the members of Toto. The GOAT Jeff Porcaro on drums, his brother, Steve, on bass, and the one and only Steve Lukather on guitar. The magic in this song is the result of the best studio musicians of the time being hired to MAKE this song what it is. Take out the vocals and this shit is a jam-up groove track on it's own. Pin this TTT so the people who only know Toto songs (Africa) from the sitcom Scrubs will see it and read about the members of the band. These dudes are legends - and so is Michael McDonald, BTW. Fun fact, but widely know, the members of Toto played a big part in the success of Michael Jackson. Check the credits, starting with Thiller. You'll find a lot of Toto members listed.
